Carefully sneaking. Try to check houses with interiors and two exits, because they are a loot source and an escape mechanism in one. Don't get cornered. If they start chasing, run, but don't sprint, that will just slow your running down. The zombies will eventually stop chasing.
Take it slow. If you think you're going to aggro a zombie, go slower. Move around. Be aware of your surroundings. I rarely have trouble with aggro unless I'm being a retard.

Stealth is somewhat broken, took a single fast step in Cherno and alerted every zombie between the docks and the North hospital.
Although this was after I accidentally drove a car into the port going 152kph but aside from that :v:
