What. I just watched this but from Max's perspective. But to be honest, the way they were dicking around, they kinda deserved it.
How were they dicking around? I've watched both perspectives and they seemed serious enough to me. Also, it doesn't matter how much you dick around. No one deserves to be killed by a hacker.
DayZ is fucking fuck.
On the other hand... 1) lurking around the Cherno church, a guy asks my name, "you friendly?" Sure thing I tell him and lower my AKSU. He says, "don't shoot we're coming in". Next moment three guys step in from a breach through the wall and instantly shoot me to pieces. Cool. 2) Looking for supplies in the Cherno hospital tents. Rookie comes heavily panting, armed with the hatchet only, bleeding heavily and having a dozen zeds on his tail. I finish off the zeds one by one with my AKM while the guy bandages himself. Zeds all gone. I'm about to turn back and ask him if he needs more help, then next thing is his hatchet in my skull. Now start blaming me for shooting on sight the first survivor I met after respawning.
Has anyone managed to figure out what causes you to take a running dive into prone position from a dead stop? Jumped out of my 5th deer stand just now Love breaking my legs
This has only happened to me a few times, except I was on flat land so no damage taken, I think it happens if you double tap w or something

Apologies for the noob question but has the ghillie suit bug been fixed? Found my first after 170 hours of playing and I'd hate to splash in the ocean. I just found 3 T-72 Tanks in front of me. Dem hackers, won't take it as I don't want to get banned (I found them, didn't spawn them) but was so ever tempting to take one for a spin.
There are no T-80's in ArmA2
Woops meant T-72
It's been fixed, yes.
thanks.
just started playing the game, walking around lost for a while with no weapons or supplies and i finally find a barn i enter the barn and begin looting it, when suddenly i hear this voice on the mic. i just kinda froze at the top of the barn and some guy with an engrish accent was saying "are you friendly or foe?" and i didnt reply. he then said he knew i was in the barn and he said he had a friend with him so i said i was friendly and he said he was going to come in and if i did anything his friend would shoot me. i had no weapons so i just sat there as he walks up with a winchester. he asks me if i need anything and then leads me to a shotgun he found near the barn. i roll with him for a bit and we raid a few places, and it began to get really dark either because it was night or my blood was ~8500 so we went into this one last barn to watch from. i began raiding it while he stands guard outside and then two zombies just shamble into the building and i try talking to the guy to let him know. he apparently didnt understand english too well and sprinted into the building, then saw the zombies and sprinted out with them chasing. i watched through the window as he sprinted in circles with eventually 7 zombies behind him before he died i waited ten minutes and looted his body, he had some good equipment. i feel terrible but i only had 2 shots and there was nothing i could do [editline]27th June 2012[/editline] still, surprised there are people willing to help a new player out
So I've found a FAL with an NV scope attachment. I know it's pretty damn rare, but i'm in two minds about keeping it specifically because of it being so rare, and knowing people probably wont hesitate to shoot me for it.
Found someone's camp... dear god. We could barely contain ourselves while trying to jimmie the ural out of where it was.

I tend to be more hostile inland, but on the coast I find I'm friendly and willing to help out unarmed survivors in places like Cherno. Speaking of Cherno, I spawned near it and went in town, found a crossbow with plenty of steel bolts. I see this survivor running away from 5 zeds, I told him on direct chat voice "Come to me in the apartment, top floor and I'll help you" , he went upstairs and I killed the zeds chasing him. He fucked off, but seemed grateful that I saved his ass from being zombie food. Direct chat is interesting, saw a guy with a winchester, asked friendly, shot at me screamed "Nope" and ran. Now I got a Makarov with 5 mags, food, crossbow, soda and heading inland again.

Out of 4 people on the US133 server, one finds me at a deer stand and shoots me as I leave :C
sheer terror
Something about those long, empty farm buildings weirds me out.
Zombie knocked me out at the top of a tower. Logged out and back in, try to get up....stuck in chimney. Goodbye m107 and DMR.

God damn, who the hell put all this barbed wire and tank traps up around Elektro??
Man, I'm tired of playing alone, I had a DMR and an M4A1 CCO SD, Rangefinders, NVGs, Ghillie suit, GPS and a coyote backpack. One zombie managed to break my bones and knock me out, and proceeds to get me down to 2000 blood, i had my DMR out and i shot him with it which was my biggest mistake, I was eaten by zombies soon after. Any chance I could join camp Autism?
Just had the weirdest experience. Was in NW Airfield, South Barracks, hear some guy erecting a barricade, so I prone to see what gear he had and whether or not he looks like he's aggressive, he then prones away from the barracks, he sees me because I see him staring straight at me, we just stare at each other as he crawls away slowly, I then see him disconnect and I go on my way looting the barracks. [editline]27th June 2012[/editline] Also a zombie scratched my face and the bones in my leg exploded. Beautiful.
Hit respawn while thinking about spawn points and lost a M16 ACOG :suicide:
Something about those long, empty farm buildings weirds me out.
Reminds me of the first encounter you have with a Controller on Stalker Shadow of Chernobyl, long hallways creep me out after that.
What are you talking about? I've survived 99% of zombie encounters by simply crouch walking through areas and making sure I don't have more than 1 pip on my ear (zero preferably, which is possible in grass and such). Stealth works fine. it's a little over-sensative once you go over the limit granted (i.e. slightly alert one zombie and every one in the area knows you are there) but it's simple enough to run away twoards the hills or zig-zag through interiors to break their line of sight.
The thing is that it is much more efficient to run, lose as many zombies as possible and shoot the few that are left. It's a shame that it has to be this way, but with the current mechanics it is in my opinion not worthwhile to sneak around zombies.
-video-
Why waste so much ammo and grenades?
