Dwarf Fortress - Mom, why are those Elves eating each other? - Games

What the hell it's a volcano! OH GOD OH GOD! There goes 4 of my 7 dwarves, all but one barrel of alchohol, all the animals, the expedition leader, and any source of food I had, but damn that was some sexy fallout.

I don't get the theory that volcanos are a magma pool that spawned over a chasm. What is that meant to mean?

I've never set a note..maybe I did by accident.

It's really easy to accidently set a note when resizing and moving the box since the buttons are next to eachother.

I have a question. Say I'm trying to find a cave called "The pit of Faith" as it contains a 300 year old dragon in it. How could I find the location without checking every tile on the map?

OH GOD, I just knocked out about 10 dwarves in a single cave-in.

Just set CPU affinity to DF[/QUOTE] It's a bit strange really, her girlfriend's laptop can run a starting fortress in a somewhat populated area at about 70-90 fps and runs through worldgen about as fast as my own PC back home. Even though the other one has more RAM and the processor has a higher clock speed. Is this OpenGL version the one you get from the main downloads or is it some special version? Oh hold on I found the SDL-powered version, but it still wants to offload world units at a ridiculously slow rate, even with the second core disabled in the affinity options.

Oh wow. I had a Goblin ambush, about 7 goblins armed with pikes. My squad of six charged them. By the time the axemen got there, the crossbowman had already knocked the majority of them unconcious. 1. Fill it with artifacts 2. Egrave the walls and the floors 3. Check the room value 4. ???? 5. Profit!

you cant engrave green glass floors and walls i think EDIT: oh god the fire imps started a forest fire of epic scales

I really have no idea what the majority of my dwarves are doing. Loads of them seem to be hauling constantly and I don't know what it is they're hauling all the time.

I need to start a seccond fort near a magma pipe or pool or something so I can try a fortress with that, have never tried one in a location with that before..

Go for a pipe. Pools end sooner or later.

I wish 3Dwarf would show what it was made of, good work the pyramid. When you say everything does that include the coffin and doors?

my only glassmaker got possesed he has everything exept something that is rough and colored:crying: Now a goblin ambush appeared inside my fort:wtf: and killed my woodworker EDIT: i think its bugged i have tons of raw green glass stone and shells but he wont move and i have enough rough gem EDIT2: NVM he started getting his stuff now il post pics of what he made in a few mins

My dwarves are refusing to carve a ramp down a level, nor will they build any up-stairs on that level. I'm fucking confused.

I'm fucking confused.[/QUOTE] i only ever use ramps to let the wagon into the depot. otherwise i use stairs. Place a down starway on the level you want to do down from, place an up down stairway driectly underneath it.
