Wow, I've had a closer look at this now, I'm quite interested. Gonna check out the wiki and stuff a bit closer tomorrow and we'll see if I'll ever manage to make my own little fortress of dwarfs.

3D Dwarf isn't a 3d version of the game, it just renders a map into a static 3d image.

Also if anybody is wondering/cares, I'd like to try dwarf fortress out since recently I got this new rig, it's amazing and I can play all of these fancy next gen games. But it really feels like some of them lack gameplay value, something that DF has no shortage of. From the looks of it, it kind of reminds me of Dungeons & Dragons. Before you rage, with that I mean not the way it plays out, but the way you basically can do just about anything and you are free to do whatever you wish. Along with the fact that you use your imagination a lot more than todays games.

Me and my friends are going to try and get into DnD once school starts again. :v:

With the Wiki, use generic search terms. For example, you want to know how to build a coffin. You could search death, or coffin. Some things are a bit harder to find, like how to cage and uncage animals etc. Just click around on the links and you'd eventually find it.

Why um.. thanks! It's 2am here so I better get some sleep and I'll have a look into. Nice to see that people are helpful around here. I personally thought it was more of a "closed" group of facepunchers playing this. I guess I got the wrong picture of you guys. Anyway, thanks.
