Really? I doubt it has that much of a negative impact. Atleast they'll still work. Vomiting causes them to stop completely.
Few problems and questions i've run into. One- is it possible to UN-cave adapt dwarves? I've dug channels to expose ALL my dwarves to sun at pivotal parts of the fort almost consantly, yet its been like two years and they still keep vomiting. EVERYWHERE. Not to mention the bad thoughts are still coming. Two- Why won't my dwarves dump goblin bodies i've designated? I'm getting tired of the miasma making everyone disgusted. I have others, I just forgot a lot of them while writing this for some reason.
2: Do you have a dump area designated?
Do dwarves ever actually adapt to living underground, or is the sickness there just to annoy you?
Yes, they do. Easy prevention is to early on make all meeting areas open.
I've got multiple dump areas designated, even one especially for goblin corpses.
He's the only useful noble. He actually works. He's a furnace operator, an animal trainer (He's the only dwarf who can dragons and stuff), an animal caretaker and a metal crafter.
My mayor is a legendary miner, how can you say he's the only useful noble. What do I do about my animals? http://ioj.com/v/29sgw Ffff. What do you guys do?
Butcher them. Press Z and then press enter, and you can designate them for butchering. Remember to leave a breading pair.
Butcher them. Press Z and then press enter, and you can designate them for butchering. Remember to leave a breading pair.
But I just want to put them somewhere else than the dining room, not butcher them all yet.
Impossible, monsieur, impossible.
Couldn't he just toss them all into a cage?
I'm gonna need a huge cage.
Dig a 2-tile channel, build a door, lock it, throw animals down the pit. They will breed there and not slow the game so much with their pathfinding. If you put the in a cage, it will run even faster, but they won't breed.

The dwarves will expose themselves to the outdoors when they go out to admire the statues, and get happy thoughts if the statues are nice enough. If you have a refuse stockpile the dwarves should dump any non-dwarf corpses there. Best to have it outside, to avoid generating miasma.
I've run into a problem, I wanted to go down a z level, I press > and I go down, but then I can't get back up.. also is it normal that it's all blue? Because the game didn't warn me anything really..
How do I put the animals in the pit?
Designate it is a Pit/Pond with i , press P for the settings, press f until it is a pit, then just designate the animals there using the list. Change the bindings with esc, I have + and - for z-levels, > < for adventure movement. / * are for secondary menus, . and , for paging secondary menus. Also use numpad for movement. It's the best way.

http://ioj.com/v/362nb Does it also take ages for you guys to smooth stone?
Mine don't but then again mine are all pretty proficient.

I can't freaking find the level down button, I can only go up, the list with all of the binds is fucking huge, it takes a day only to go through it once. Rather frustrating.. I can't find it anywhere on the wiki either.
(Up = Shift +<) (Down = Shift +>)

I have both some experienced and some peasants doing it. [editline]05:43PM[/editline] Kwal GTFO out of ventrilo, Mayday tileset for the win.
If I added Orcs to my game now, would I have to make a new fort for them to come in? I want my 200+ dwarf fort to take them on.
