Dwarf Fortress - Mom, why are those Elves eating each other?

If it is in the barracks, it is a side effect of wrestles sparing. If it is else where, did you have a dwarf go insane recently?
yeah my recruits were training, also, how do i get them to put their clothes back on?
You can't.
That's why you should only train crossbow dwarves.
Or crossbow humans, wich is in my point of view (yes i moded the game to be able to play as goblins, elves, humans, not that hard)
Dwarves are superior to humans in every way :eng101:
Besides, it's good to train your dwarves into wreslters, even midway. That way they can evade more attacks and become more durable.
Has anyone else stopped playing until the next update? I've pretty much burned myself out on the current version.
dem dorfs
I'd play, but I don't get that much needed inspiration from you guys anymore because this thread is slowly dying.
I started to play Adventure mode again. Generated a pocket world with elf and human civs, they was at war. I thought that it would be funny to try to kill Human Lord playing as an elf......Human Lord thought that it would be funny to make my body explode in gore with the first hit......
P.S. Third BowElf hero finally killed the Lord, too bad this event didn't get written in the Legends
Trying to make a creature that matches Ugh Zan III's features.

By the way, I'm making it a civilization for the luls.

I don't know, it didn't make any sense.
I'm an idiot, give me a shitton of boxes.
I miss Orkel.
I see him on steam lots. I guess he just put DF on hold like all of us.

So India is where the dwarves live!
"One approach has been to train bands of larger, more ferocious langur monkeys to go after the smaller groups of Rhesus macaques."
Bah, amateurs, flood the world I say!
Is there any use to a Fortress Guard? Usually if my dwarves are combat-able, I just make them military. The only ways I can see their use is if a early recruit suffers nervous damage, or just to keep the Hammerer happy.
And on that note, if you kill the Hammerer or he dies in any other way, will another one come back in other immigrant waves?
If a noble dies, a replacement will arrive in the next immigrant wave.
The Fortress Guard and Royal Guard Do not do anything useful other then keep nobles happy and arrest law breakers/berserk dwarves. The role is best filled with wounded solders, otherwise they will train and become locked as elite/champion guards.
Does wearing plate mail over chain do anything? Since I don't want my military man wearing iron plate mail over a good piece of steel chain mail and only get the iron effects.
Is ther a tutorial somewhere that I am missing? I installed it and I am totally lost.

I remember back in the day when I used to be in the steam chat all the time.
hopefully I'll get that new puter and start using steam again. In the meantime like everyone else, I'm checking the dev_now daily...
Why am I not getting immigrants? I've been crafting rock crafts and trading and still no people.
Did you disable immigration in the init file? Are you over he population cap (set in the init file)? Are you getting the message that dwarves are too scared to come due to a high death count?
The first 2 can be fixed with a slight edit to the init file. the third can only be fixed by not letting dwarves die and just waiting for them to 'regrow their spines'.
I really don't understand this, and I've looked on the wiki.
I started on a very hilly area and wooded area, so my depot is pretty much inaccessible.
I want to make it accessible but I'm not sure entirely what I need to do.
1. Do I need to make a road to all four corners of the map or just one?
2. Do I need roads?
3. Do I need to build three tiles wide of artifical ramps on every change in z level, or can wagons go up natural slopes?
I know that I have to remove trees, boulders already, but can someone answer these questions or explain it to me better?
Oh, and is it possible to just a dig a giant underground tunnel instead of a surface road?

Tunnel works, just one corner is fine, roads are not a required but they're good to have when you get a king and so on, wagons can go up natural slopes too, but artificial ones have higher quality.
