Awesome a Kobold anyway to kill it, painfully... And how to attack it would help as well.
I made a pit right to the bottom of the map! Now I need to test it. [editline]03:22PM[/editline] Good news and bad news. The good news is there's no longer all these annoying kittens roaming around the fort! The bad news...
Good news and bad news. The good news is there's no longer all these annoying kittens roaming around the fort! The bad news...
Is that there is no longer a reliable food supply?
Hey how can i attack kobolds?
Hey how can i attack kobolds?
When their near them, your soldiers will attack them automaticly.
Hey how can i attack kobolds?
Military can if they are set to harass dangerous wild animals, also war dogs will attack them so you can set a chain in your entrance hallway so when kobolds come in they get attacked and sometimes eaten by the dogs.
Is that there is no longer a reliable food supply?
Not exactly. Remember that pit I mentioned?

The Muskox finally gave up and fell down the waterfall. luckily for it, it missed my platform.
Fffffff! 17 migrants!
Any way to get the game running faster? At start it was all cool and fast, but now the dwaves are slowly slugging around fort. The interface speed is still untouched, I can scroll and choose things instantly, just the simulation got terribly slow. It would be awesome if it got multicore support, as I am on q6600 I guess it get's slowed by river going from one corner of map to other one, and as it seems water in DF is somewhat dynamic, so I think that it's kinda demanding in the unoptimal engine.
My Dyer just went suicidal and threw himself down my pit.
Limit your population cap, make large hallways and easy access areas to cut down on pathfinding computation and don't lock dwarfs in places as they will constantly try a find a way out, which will cause lag. Also use a smaller embark area for your next fort.
Well this game's nice and polite saves before crashes. So if now start in adventure mode my old fucked up forts are still there?
I just sliced off a bears arm, picked it up, and threw it at the bear, killing it. In other words, I used my bear hands to rip off the bear's bear hands, and then killed the bear with it's own hands.
So far my fortress appears to be doing quite well, i have already defended myself from a few groups of goblins (no full fledged sieges yet) and will most likely continue upgrading it. Here is the link to it: http://mkv25.net/dfma/map-7124-firstadvanced
I've been working on my first above-ground human settlement a bit lately. Here's the current state of affairs: http://mkv25.net/dfma/map-7125-taperedtrample I omitted most of the pit-o-death because there was nothing else on those levels, so it's not really that short. There was recently a really unusual siege led by a dwarf who was carrying over 24 pages of crafts on him and was missing his left leg and arm. Two goblin groups attacked the castle very fruitlessly, I raised the drawbridge, which threw a couple of them into the moat, then lowered it again and crushed 3 of them or so. Plus I had crossbowmen manning the walls.
I challenged Zezibesh to DF survival, we both start on same spots in the world and see who survives the longest in hazardous environment. [editline]01:55PM[/editline] oh fuck [editline]01:58PM[/editline] Oops, I died already. Don't tell Zezi, k?
ahahaha ahahahah hahahah And I'm in a impenetrable underground fortress with a infinite supply of food and booze protected by two hammermen and two swordsmen. Oh and first year. By the way, I was playing around on my desert fortress save and decided to "hire" some mercenaries (caravan guards) by gifting lots of shit to the merchants, and then removing the "guard" tag from the guards with Companion. You get decently trained guards with good equipment for a cheap price. Also they don't have the "is a member of blahlblah of blah" tag, which is cool.
My human fort is quite a succses. Too bad its a bitch housing 142 people. And i still don't get any Goblin sieges or attacks, so my towers and my walls are going to waste (not unless to keep animals out of my fortress) [editline]08:49AM[/editline] I will post pics of my fort later.

Goblins were attacked my village before I even finished my castle. I had to carve fortifications into the town hall to fight them off.
Nevermind, found a way to do it by my self.
Building arctic base. EDIT: FUCK GLOBAL WARMING IT ALL MELTED! oh wait, it's summer.
Are you sure there are goblins nearby? Goblins were attacked my village before I even finished my castle. I had to carve fortifications into the town hall to fight them off.
Probably not. I doubt that the Goblins even survived world gen. And i have already built my awesome fort with dolomite walls , fortifications everywhere on the wall, and lots n' lots of towers. And i decided to dig a channel around my forts walls, so those trolls would have a tough time trying to break them. Damnit, i should let a kobold steal all of my stuff that i got off the elves "for free" (i used a bug where you can get some goods off of them without causing a massive elven siege, it has something to do with them either going stark raving mad, beserk, or being stricken by melancholy) Either that or i should actually kill the elves with the traps ive set (in case i got REALLY bored, but i'm still busy housing my humans)
There's a really simply way to get all the goods from any trader for free, but it's definitely considered a big cheat. Also, despite the lack of any feedback, I'm convinced everyone cares about the happenings in my game. Here's the aftermath of the first goblin siege: And the second goblin siege, after I had started building my castle:
Arctic base is going well, I plan to shut off my 11 dwarfs off from the outside world in here, the winter and other seasons are freezing cold and kill anyone outside fast. Dumbass migrants arrived in winter, they died as they reached the base, the Elve caravan I used my trap depot to (yes trap it has walls) steal their stuff, their mule went murderous and mauled my farmer before my peacekeepers could get to it, he is healing up but his lover is sad. I feel lucky I installed that well when I did. The elves went crazy then the mules who killed the elves and eachother, then the last mule I couldnt wait to kill. I figured it would make them freeze to death being in the depot for that long outside they went crazy first prob. from the cold. I got a lot of good loot though. I found natural bauxite under the aquifer, too bad though because I am in the arctic so it isn't really needed. Captured a kobold theif, the only one that made it to my base with out freezing to death, he made it to the barracks where I control the iron floodgates I call an entrance.
Captured a kobold theif
Experiment on it!
Experiment on it!
Done, I wanted to know if kobolds could get through my tiny maze. He flung him self off a drawbridge into a pool of water where he then excountered magma pouring in, han solo comes to mind when i think of it.
