I want an option to choose between races to go (in fortress mod, and i want it fixed) I want adventurer mod to be more RP like, rather than mindless battles and working for free. I want the abillity to siege other cities, countries even. I want the abillity to send caravans for trading I want better graphics (updated maydays mod) I want easier town creation (micromanaging buildings is a bitch) I want to create an empire, not just a fort.
Those are rather excellent suggestions actually. A more intuitive job/overall dwarf management system could be a good idea as well ( that is not an external utility)

I think my engraver was mentally disturbed by the various suicides and accidents that have happened at my fort. Most of them due to dwarves going insane.

I have started an awesome fort. Place was really nice. A wide river, plenty of wood... Nice stone kinds... The first year went really good... only... THE FUCKING CARPS ALREADY ATE 2 MY DWARFS ALGKAJSGLAKXNVAHKLOAGHJKDG How the hell are they so powerful? They killed both fisher dwarf and fish cleaner. And always when somebody goes to drink from river (and ignore drinking zones I set up, even through they should be forced to only drink from there), the whole river turns red from their blood. I would really like some sort of explosive, like dinamite, and dump it into the river, blowing these fuckers out of water.

Also, dwarves don't drink from murky pools. [editline]08:21PM[/editline] Or if you want an actual explosion, mod it to 40000 and give them [SEVERONBREAKS]. This will most likely evaporate your river though.
Whenever I run dwarf fortress, after a few minutes it crashes. it says my video card stopped responding, and then recovered. I have the current version, and the most updated video drivers for my videocard. Can anyone help me with this issue?

With a bit of luck, he should start shooting the fish. He doesn't need to kill the fish super quick, nor should he have to club them with the crossbow, so make the crossbow and bolts out of wood or bone (or whatever's readily available).

Also are you using the right version for your OS?
I'm on a 64 bit Vista, is there any download specific for that?

I lost it, two iron doors and two iron flood gates didn't last long when all I had was 2 swordsdwarfs and two marksdwarfs for defense. The first to die was the farmer who was injured and then the minners and wood cutter who tried to defend the base, then everyone elss. Starting base 2. I have dug in and have all my stuff stored inside, I just need to get everyone settled in a room, which due to conditions I have started digging 5x5 rooms for my dwarfs. I think this time I wil create a form of magma based defense for my dwarfs, yetis don't like magma.

I think population cap doesn't stop all dwarves from migrating, don't remember why though, it's been a year since I wanted a pop cap. Anyone up for a party? it's ronery here.
I'm gonna plan/guess that my Dwarves will be mining out the main fort for about one year.
Just seal your fort off and the migrants die eventualy. Like for me in the arctic I get maybe 2 migrants a year so at 10 dwarfs so far I am really kind of better off.
I turned my main lobby into a massive gorefest by making it a barracks and recruiting all my 33 dwarves. And giving them all obsidian shortswords without any experience. I had 2 elite wrestlers with some experience before I started, I think they're going to be the only survivors after this bloody mess.
