They're all clean and not-naked! Clearly they are newly arrived immigrants that have yet to do a hard day's labour. :v:

Started a new fort..

My miner has stopped working and just sits in their room. How do I fix this?
Oh, it was PAUSED.
Hey i have a successful fort going, but my dwarves won't collect my enemies who got caught into cage traps and put them near my execution pit (animal hauling is activated on my peasants) in fact the elves riding their horses have been sitting there so long the horses have mated and given birth. :v: anyone know how to fix this?
EDIT: oh, it turns out i have to move the rock on the animal stockpile
Wow... I started a new fort and struck adamantine with my very first dig designation.
Damn, I feel like the game is really sluggish. I don't have any measurements, but nefore, the Dwarfs moved around really fast when I started the first fort, and now even from start, while on a starting place which is like only quarter size compared to the older ones (I found out how to resize starting position), it seems terribly sluggish. The dwarfortress.exe process runs at 25% cpu load (on quad core) which obviously means it does what it cans with the single core it uses, and goes really slow.
Only possible things which could cause it and come up from my mind are:
-I downloaded different version since I started playing (as far I know a newer one, but I am no sure)
-I used much higher number of letters on screen with higher resolution, however, I think it hardly should have effect on this, as drawing letters is very simple system task
-It's because I got used up to the game, and I don't find it so fast paced as before. I don't exclude this explanation, however I don'f feel that it's that thing.
So any advice what it could be? Which version is running the best?

Yeah, has happened to me too. I dug maybe three tiles into a massive cliff and there it was.
It's really rare though that the features set in such a way that you can access the HFS straight from the surface. But of course this adds the capability of breaking sieges in a fun way.

Heh, I couldn't believe it, I dug right into the pits, too. All of a sudden my dwarfs were burning to death, so I savescummed and smoth/fortification'd the right place. I love that method, since you can see where to dig.

Version: v0.28.181.40d
Nothing else you can do about fps really. You can try using a smaller embark size.

Wait, so it is the right version, or isn't? I have 0.28.181.40d. Should I get another, or this is the best one?
