What are your guys strategies for the beginning of the game? I make power generators first then a factory, but I don't think that's the best way to do it.
Got it during the Direct2Drive $5 sale. I haven't played it much to develop a set strategy, but I did beat a Normal Cybran AI in Skirmish mode in a few minutes by racing for a T3 factory, speed-building a strategic bomber and blowing his shot up before the moron built any AA defenses. That was fun. I've yet to play an actual game, though.

The AI that comes with the game just really isn't up to par with the skill level of what you would expect from bots. The AI that comes with SupCom is extremely... beatable? The Sorian AI adds some new twists and the AI is actually trying to kick your ass. They will send wave after wave of units, sometimes these waves never end. It's really challenging playing these bots, even more fun (and reasonable) if you try and beat them with a friend.
Wow the demo actually runs on my computer, I might get this.

Then you take 1 or 2 engineers and build mass extractors. BTW you want to upgrade your commander to T2 when you finish getting all the mass and finish building the power generators.

Alright I need help. For whatever reason, gpgnet doesn't work for me. It will shut down Supreme Commander and then nothing happens. So I've been updating manually and have to do it incrementally. I can't find a version 3280 to version 3289 patch, it's like it doesn't exist. Can anyone help, because I really want to play online. edit:just figured out 3280 is final version, but I still can't play online. GPG.Multiplayer.Client.exe won't run. Probably something with vista
Motherfucker..I finally get $5 into my Paypal and the Supreme Commander Gold deal is gone. FUCK....

A single T1 power generator will support up to 10 extractors infinitely. I've tried making factory, power then mass, and it seems to work. The starting reserves will keep you going decently until you can get back into profit, and you get engineers going that little bit sooner.

Probably something with vista
Redundant question: have you tried running it in administrator mode? Or better yet disable that piece of shit UAC like I did. I use Vista Ultimate - 64, and it works fine, aside from Gpgnet taking half an hour to check for patches on a re-installation of SC. [editline]02:17PM[/editline] I make T1 power gens around the outside of my T1 land factory (expect for the front, so things can leave), which is usually enough power to make 5 T1 engineers and get the factory to T3 in a few minutes. Meanwhile I can have my ACU create a front-line defense in-case of a T1 rush (usually play with no-rush on though). All in all it takes me about 10 minutes to get a base going with 20 T3 engineers, enough power gens/fabs to create mostly anything quickly, and a solid enough line of SAM's and T2-3 point defenses, then it's just a matter of turtleing like a bitch. Though if I don't start with pre-built units, then I do the 4 mass extractors first.
I get serious frames issues when I play, even with my q6600, 4 gbs ram and a 4870, and yes I am using the core maximizer. I could never figure out why It gets so laggy.

Now I haven't played a game not against bots in ages, however I do make sure to have sorians newest AI Turns out, it didn't like dual monitors. Guess I need to get my other video card for the second monitor.
I tried adaptive for the first time, with no-rush on, for 20 minutes. When I saw what my radar was showing me, I was like, "OH, SHIT" There were 100 units coming for my base, I had 3 tech 2 and 3 tech 1 point defenses. And EVERY SINGLE ONE of the enemies turned out to be tech 1 assault bots, laughed pretty hard at them just getting killed in a row. I made 25 tech 2 heavy tanks and 2 tech 2 mobile AA units, and went straight for his base. Ended up killing him with a squad of tech 2 tanks, lost only 3, lost them all when the motherfucker exploded tho. God damn too easy. Anyway, I was expecting a harder challange, will try something different later.
You download Sorian's AI? If not here, get it. http://forums.gaspowered.com/viewtopic.php?t=22908
