After playing some Half Life 2: EP2/GMod, you will notice that the AI will actually adapt to how you attack them, Hunters and Combine will run and sidestep away to avoid you running them over in vehicles, grenades will cause Combine and Rebels to scatter, Metropolice, Combine, and others accurately predict when their target is going to be in range for them to melee, IE they will start their attack before you are in their range.
Compare this to CoD: 4 AI.
Laugh.

AI? In CoD 4?
It is advanced, Compared to Half-Life ;)
They are a lot more helpful
I mean take MW2 for example, you have teammates, but they don't do anything. ANYTHING.
This AI at least has the people firing at other people. They can also HIT and KILL others.
Oh god I remember "No Russian"... :ohdear: I got killed by that fucker with the MG.. Twice in a row..
The femal Assassines in Half-Life 1 were realy smart for the time
They piss me off. All they do is hide behind corners and jump around. Then when you think you've killed one it turns out SHE DROPPED A GRENADE AND SHE BLOWS UP! :argh:
If they're tricking you, I would call that successful AI :v:
I still say Half-Life 1's grunts were the best
except for when they dropped a grenade on the floor
That reminds me on Freeman's Mind where 1 ran around a corner, Gordon killed him. Grunt sees his body die, he goes and does same thing. Repeats about 3 more times.
Because to Grunts..shitting bricks is a grenade
