In any other situation I would have voted Link, but then I realized that Gordon was the only non-Nintendo character in the vote and then it hit me. What Valve did with Half-Life (and HL2) was the closest any game had done to revolutionize the FPS genre. It was the staple for story-based FPSes and many games wouldn't exist as they do today without Half-Life.
