When gordon wins, expect mass 'well mario dosnt need a poll to prove he is better'ing from the nintendork fanbase.
When gordon wins, expect mass 'well mario dosnt need a poll to prove he is better'ing from the nintendork fanbase.
I thought that was a given.
Day 5, still alive. We have squashed their morale like their precious Don Mario squashes those Goombas.

I voted! Hope Freeman wins.
Unless Mario can somehow pull 21k+ votes out of his ass in an instant, i don't think it's very likely For Freeman to lose

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!! ah, you make me laugh. I too have many fond memories of playing mario and zelda games growing up, but the past is the past! if you took the time to actually play any of the half-life games youd realize how incredible they are. Before i got into PC gaming i would have never believed that any hero out there could be better than Link, he was simply the best! I own, have played, and have beaten every zelda game. ever. I have a link gamer-grafix in my room, and i was convinced that he was the biggest badass ever. then i played the HL series. Gordon Freeman is incredible. People who havent played them criticize how Gordon doesnt talk, but if they played theyd realize how incredible a job VALVe did at making you feel like YOU are freeman, that it is all happening to YOU. Gordon is the one free man, and he is everyone. not only that, but valve is very loyal to their fans. they're constantly sending messages to them through steam, making FREE updates for their games-which is why none of them ever get old, have developed multiple programs for their users to use, etc. this is why i love them so. Until 2 or 3 years ago i was an incredibly loyal nintendo fan. then, when the wii came out i was sorely disappointed. while the wiimote was a cool concept and was fun for a month or two, nintendo made no good games! their systems before appealed mostly to the casual gamer, and now theyre appealing to ONLY super casual gamers, little kids, and people who have never played videogames before. it was a HUGE slap to the face. Why? because to them its all about the money. VALVe came out of nowhere in 1997 with half-life, and all the major companies laughed at them with their mountains of money. then, HL was a booming success recieving astonishingly large amounts of awards and being labeled "the best PC game ever" by multiple companies. that was at least until HL2 came out, recieving even more awards and also being labeled "best PC game ever" by an even larger number of companies. some people just need to move on from their old heros. and after all, this is a greatest HERO contest. Mario (and dont think i have an angry tone, ive spent large portions of my life playing and enjoying mario games) just goes around jumping on crap and picking up mushrooms to save the kingdom inhabited by mushrooms from a big turtle..........uuuuuuuh, acid trip? Gordon fights against a nearly unstoppable force (the Combine) that enslaves races across the Universe and in many galaxies. He restores hope in humanity, and fights to liberate them from a military machine. He's done more with a crowbar than most heroes do with an arsenal of weapons. The games are incredible, as the storyline is epic, VALVe does an amazing job at giving each character so much life (ive never gotten such an emotional response from any other game, EVER! i was bawling in HL2ep2 when Eli dies), the engine is great, the music is great, and they are so incredibly fun! so the fact that you refer to it as "half-crap" is an uneducated-upset-fanboy-attack on a revolutionary game series. also, your bellief that it's some program making Gordon victorious is also false. Gamespot was able to identify the Bub-and-Bob beating Samus as a program, but there are no signs of any cheating on Gordon's part. you shouldnt be surprised by the fact that gordon is going to win, the amount of PC gamers out there is huge, and Gordon being the best of the best is going to be voted for by all of them. Just accept that link and mario lost like a man, and move on. If anyone is sore about it, we can all rejoice in the fact that our favorite heroes got as far as they did in the contest while master chief didnt get past the first round. ^_^ /\ Above gamespot comment is the best !
