I've 10 points from HoM so far. Fairly little, I know. I think I can do better! Gotta complete all missions in Cantha on Hard Mode. Anyone interested to party up? We can do ones in Tyria/Elona too.
I'm up for Cantha pretty whenever I'm on. Jaekkaen Osarsso
Looking forward to that.
Looking forward to that.
I guess I would join you, I'm Grun Fald Trovun in-game.
Man, it's impossible to get a group for the fissue of woe or the underworld. You go to the temple of ages and this happens LFG t1 t2 mot mt fowsc 1 to go then you join it, they say U MT? U MT? then you get kicked. what happened to having fun, not having a strict template and if you don't fit it you can't play

People just prefer to group up with other people for a specific team build to clear the UW or FoW in the fastest time possible, which means anyone who can't play those builds takes forever to find a group.
There used to be so many balanced groups going into UW/FoW.
only way to do it is make it yourself
To be fair I'll just wait till the 7 heroes update and then do them with heroes on this account, less fail-proof, and you're in full control.
What 7 hero update??
The upcoming one together with embark beach.
The upcoming one together with embark beach.
Where can I read more about it? Can't find anything on their website.

The builds are used because it's the fastest way (that they have discovered) to do UW and Fow, so it increases how much money they're making. Doing it in maybe a quarter of the time as a normal group is a lot better for making money. I just need practice because I'm too polite to mess things up :v
Where can I read more about it? The road goes both ways. You don't join a group looking for a healer as an assassin. You can gripe about people not accepting anything but cookie cutter builds and players all you want. Just be sure to remember that these builds are popular because they work the best of what is commonly known. People generally don't do FoW/UW/dungeon clears/DoA because they feel like it. They do it because they make money doing it. Also consider that the vast majority of the playerbase would be entirely unable to come up with these builds on their own. There are 'pr0' 15 year old players in every game who are only able to do stuff through constant repetition. They don't know why what they do works. They just know that it does. Asking them to do anything different or unusual is akin to asking them to fail. Do any dungeon clear. Whenever something doesn't go according to plan there is a good chance the whole group explodes as a result. I've seen so many wipes in SoO because the A/P died, and then everyone else ran around like chickens with their heads cut off because they can't get it through their heads that they should just heal whoever is carrying the torch instead. On the first level if the A/N dies while gating half the group invariably dies because they can't keep track of a 3 skill rotation while running through an area they generally don't run through. If you don't conform to what is expected for an elite area you are not only limiting your team through your set up, you are limiting your team through their inability to handle the change caused by your set up.

I also find it annoying that even though a regular run takes say, 2-3 hours, and a speedclear with the best build only takes say, 15 mins, It'll still take over 3 hours for me just to get the build, and then I'd have to practice until I can play it well. I'd rather just play a regular PvE team in FoW with some decent builds, and not those builds where you have to perfect them in order for them to work and you also need to invest a lot of time and effort into getting all the skills and items, etc.
But people use them, because once you invest the time it is an amazing way to make money.

Did you use consets? To put things into perspective, a good group can do a hard mode speedclear in 20 minutes under a conset without anyone besides T1, and T2 using personal consumables, and those two just use one for a run buff. T2 especially spends nearly half the time running. As far as grinding goes, there isn't much left for the people doing it to do. Those that don't like it quit 2 or 3 years ago when they ran out of stuff to do. Some of the quests require some timing in UW, but other than that it is pretty simple. Watch a video guide or two. As I recall the UW terraway build on pvx has an excellent set of guides for it with narration. If you just want to complete FoW/UW once, I don't know what to tell you.
If you just want to complete FoW/UW once, I don't know what to tell you.
I do, wait till 7 heroes, as heroes can enter Elite areas, and breeze through it with them. [editline].[/editline] Just did The Deep HM with a PuG, oh my god the tanks were terrible, but we managed to kill him anyway, sadly I didn't get his axe.

What the fuck. I cannot log in the game. I have tried entering my account and password numerous times but it still says that account is incorrect. [editline]14th November 2010[/editline] Nevermind fixed it.
Guys, sell your minipets that aren't dedicated but keep one. I've made 110K just selling off three minipets because everybody is all over them for GW2. You only need one dedicated white one to get a medal and a point, doesn't matter what it is.
I love you
does this update realtime?

If someone wants 30 (or more) points, they are going to have to make it up somehow. For example, if I did what you did, I would need to make up 5 points elsewhere to get 30 points. That could be 20 hero armors, Vabbian and Obsidian armors, and two more weapons, or a 24 more titles/statues. Rephrase it to "sell your year 5 minipets and buy year 1/2/3/4 minipets you don't have" and I would agree [editline]14th November 2010[/editline]
does this update realtime?
I think it does.

You can't trade them, and they're mostly only starter items anyway that quickly get redundant. I'm only going for 11 points so I get the fiery dragon sword and the diamond aegis, and that's it.
I want at least 30. So far I got 20 or 21 I think, but I stopped playing. I'll play again once the 7-hero update is out so that I can do stuff like DoA, UW, FoW, the Deep & Urgoz if possible (do you think I'll be able to take 11 heroes there??).

So you'll have to 2man it, or just you+7
