What's currently the fastest way of gaining money besides power trading? Still farming UW?
Farming UW, or depending on if you can do it/what people are paying; the weekly items for Nicholas, as that's a bit less luck based.
I've thought about farming Nicholas items but haven't tried it yet. Maybe I'll give it a try when the rotation changes, which should be today(?)
In about 3 hours, yes.

For solo farming type stuff, yeah spirit spamming UW is an OK way to make money.
For actual team setups it's DoA. Even if you are doing the slow frostway crap, which will take an hour and a half or two hours generally speaking, you make 80k in gems in one full run from the chests. If you join a high end speed clearing guild that does caster spike, sub hour runs are quite possible. This is in addition to the quest rewards and loot drops which is another couple of plat.
From chests alone 3 full clears in DoA HM will on average get you enough gem sets for an armbrace.
I was about to say DoA. It's still really fucking hard though. My old guild managed to do DoA in insanely short times, they are kind of a big deal. Unfortunately I never really got in on it, seeing as the meta changed shortly after I got the build. Only did about 2 half-runs. Ah well.
Also it's a lot easier and worth the money to sell gemsets and use the money to buy an armbrace, rather than trying to get one on your own. Selling gemsets is the way to go.
I also make it a point to do that one mission from Hearts of the North every day, so as I end up with enough medals of honor to get an oppressor weapon every now and then. Nice and easy that is.
I've only got prophecies, got a level 20 hunter, worth trying to get back into it?
Ranger, not Hunter. And no, not if you only have Prophs. You need Eye of the North if you're gonna get any in-game rewards in GW2.
To be fair, all of the campaigns together + eotn are like 20 bucks now, instead of the 210bucks at launch.
Bump
Does anyone here still plays w/ other players?
I do the zaishen dailies with other players every day, and occasionally help guildies/friends/strangers out if they need help.
I try to do a solo UW run a day but that's it.
I was about to say DoA. It's still really fucking hard though.
Frostway is about as retarded as bars get. 2 hour HM DoA's are very doable with pugs. Are you able to smash your face into your keyboard? Then you are able to run a DWG in frostway. Can't do that? Sorry, we haven't found a workable solution for quadriplegics yet. Seriously, DWG is even more retarded than running the old ursan.
People still manage to fail catastrophically with it though. Not that I'm complaining. Anything that keeps my gems at high prices is perfectly OK with me.
Now if only I had something worth buying, which reminds me, anyone have an Everlasting Abyssal Tonic they would be willing to part with?
Massive update. 7 Heroes and embark reach. GoGoGo. Also spammable drunkard, daily vanquishes, and daily quests in pre.
Ma automerge.
Shit, the community on this game is pretty much gone.
I was hoping to try to do a few dungeons, but hardly anybody is in the nearby towns, and if they are, they're looking for runs through the dungeons.
The only way you are going to get groups for stuff is to join an active guild. The problem is finding a guild that has people who are active, not terrible, and actually want to do random missions and dungeons. It's generally a case of 3 options, pick 2.
The Embark Beach town is a good idea, and it will see some use, but the game simply doesn't have enough people to populate the outposts anymore. As to whether or not Embark reach will help people find groups for missions, I really can't say. It's guaranteed to become bogged down as a trade city. It certainly doesn't help with anything else besides missions. You can only go to mission outposts except for EoTN towns so it doesn't replace ToA and Gate of Anguish and crap like that.
Now that I can have a 7-hero party, it's going to be much easier getting tormented and destroyer weapons, but I could still need a lot of help, like, which builds could fit a 7 hero party? Should I just get a generic PVE build and hope for the best?
Can I enter UW/FoW with them 7 heroes?

I had great fun custom making each of their builds so they worked off of each other.
I went with Discordway necros, and then gave the rest damage skills that would fit well. I haven't gotten to try it yet, so I dont know if it's good
My new build
Me as a monk (Haven't found a build that works well.. AP caller is boring.)
SoS rit
SoGM Rit
Panic Mesmer
ES/PD Mesmer (Depends on area)
Sandstorm Ele
AoTL Minion master
Heal burst monk
Faceroll in DoA.
Guys guys guys
I'm really pleased about this feature:
Ready Checks
The Party Formation window has a new UI. To the left of each player's name, you will find a dropdown that displays "Ready" or "Not Ready." This is a quick way for groups of players to ensure that everyone is ready to leave before zoning or entering missions. In order to avoid griefing issues, the game will not prevent the party from proceeding even though players have set themselves as "Not Ready."
So useful! Also mercenary heroes are cool! I'm buying me a few right now! I'm so vain.
I lost all my builds, so I just cobbled together things
Seeing a bunch of my characters together on one map is strange, but me likey! :buddy:

They can hang out together and be BFFs and put makeup on each other and discuss boyfriends and do girly things~

Dunno if it'd be a good idea to let my necro attempt to apply makeup to any of them though...
OK, some things here are beg beginning to legitimately get on my nerves. A lot of the changed UI elements keep moving to their default locations. The one that always does it is the mission map.
Also, the ready toggle, isn't a toggle. It's a binary choice.... WHY does it have a drop down menu?
The spammable alcohol let me just click my way to max drunkard (I was at around 7k minutes anyways), so my dervish now has GWAMM.

1) They're aware of the UI elements snapping back.
2) Yes, that pisses the fuck out of me as well.
3) Congratulations.
I'm not doing anything till DA2 releases next week so I'm just hanging about in GW.
Add me as Worlds of Warcraft.

I cold imagine you walking through town with that name being all "haters gonna hate" as tons of fanboys pm you to complain about WoW

I haven't ever seen any toggle buttons on GW (I think), so it was probably just easier to use a drop down instead of coding the new button.
So how long does it take to get Legendary Defender of Ascalon now with the new dailies?
