Hey I'm getting this game tomorrow along with all the expansions. Anyone wanna play with me and do the quests.
I would but I basically have a week of homework to do by Wednesday morning.
I got tired of dying in DoA, so I went to try something else today. Went into the Fissure of Woe, and eventually cleared it all! I'm pretty proud of my nooby self. EDIT: 7 Heroes, btw.
Congrats, I remember clearing FoW for the first time like, back in '05, felt good man.
I just started playing a few days ago and just made it to borlis pass. I am having trouble making money to buy my new sets of armour. Could anyone please tell me how to make a decent amount of money at my level. Level 10 Warrior/Monk.
Pick up everything, Identify every weapon drop (It adds value to it, so the prices are higher when you sell it), this might not be worth it where you are now, but once you get to kryta it'll be worth it for sure. For the rest there isn't really anything you can do to make money on a normal playthrough, farming/elite areas are specialized forms of it.
How many hours should it take for me to complete all primary quests for prophecies, nightfall and factions
Around 30 if you are fast and know what you are doing
I'm going to start a new character in prophecies! nostalgia
I'm going to start a new character in prophecies! nostalgia
I just did too :v
Just got into the game due to a friend. Became an ele/monk and am having a hard time fighting without wasting half my magic on healing spells. Still better then my friend when he got into the game anyways.
It's going to be pretty difficult having a mix of healing and damage, especially if your party has a lack of real healers
For the past 2 days I've been studying on how to do the UWSC terraway, but I think I finally got everything right. Well, tomorrow I'll see if I can do it. Gonna be sweet.
That was the most profitable SC I have ever done. 2 Black dyes, 1 Obsidian Shard, 1 Q11 Obsidian edge, Onyx Gemstone, lockpick. The Obsidian edge pole vaulted me into happiness
Feel happy that I finally got my fire attribute up. Working on my energy next.
I suppose I'm finally starting on getting higher than 30 points in HoM. Just got to 31 today, 32 once I can get Black widow spider, and recruit Razah and Zenmai. 33 When I finish either Nightfall protector or skill hunter. Edit: Don't think I'll try that hard for 50 though, I like the 45 title more. Legend > Champion
I always thought Flameseeker should have been the highest title. It has a better ring to it. Anyways. My latest acquisition. I've been hunting for one of these in a skin I like for ages and Broadswords are awesome. Req 9 is even better. I probably payed slightly more than it was worth, but at 60 ectos, I may as well indulge once in a while. EDIT: Also, since someone was asking me about DoA and why caster spike is 'better' than DWG and I can't remember who. The chat basically ended with me failing to explain how caster spike can do things faster since mobs die pretty fast anyways. The bare essentials of it are that caster spike can spike faster and more cleanly. Tanks spend seconds balling stuff, and the spikes take 3 seconds. We also skip many of the groups in every place except city. DWG cannot handle big groups in city (caster spike does 5 spikes including jadoth for city) let alone fucking enormous groups like the ones seen here, or like what spawn when you kill all 6 tendrils in veil at once. Welcome to 5th room foundry without the back third of the patrols. Click to enlarge.

I have a Vampiric Dragon Sword with identical stats that only cost 15k.. I'd like to see what the skin looks like, that's the real value there. Also caster spike fucken rocks [editline]30th March 2011[/editline] I just found out the guy who did the voice of Prince Rurik in prophecies is the same guy as the medic from TF2! I didn't notice until now.. [editline]30th March 2011[/editline] He's also Travis from No More Heroes... I'm just imagining Prince Rurik in NMH now, that'd be pretty funny.

There is no equivalent inscription to the inherent bonus the broadsword I bought has. Note the double life degeneration. It's an unconditional +15% damage with the drawback of -1 health regeneration. I could put any other mod on the sword besides vampiric and it would still have -1 health regeneration. With the vampiric mod on it the sword has -2 health regeneration. You can degenerate out with a conset active if you want.
He didn't pay 60e for the sword, he -had- 60e. At least, I hope so, or he got ripped off badly.
Nope, I did pay 60e (about 450k) for it. It's probably worth around 45-50e, but as I said I'm very partial to the skin. 'Vampiric Strength' mods are quite rare, and items with inscription slots cannot have them because there is no equivalent inscription. Finding one with a low requirement and a perfect +15%/-1 hp regen is even harder still. A req 9 perfect dual vamp is automatically 15-25 ectos, and then the prices get silly and double or even triple if the skin is even remotely sought after. The guy I bought it from has been doing chest runs and claimed to have opened about 8000 locked chests when he got this, and it was the first dual vamp he'd ever seen. As far as what it looks like? Here's a wiki picture. The cloth hanging off the hilt can swing around as the weapon moves. It's not some fiery/icy/wrapped in fire/magic oversized sword with silly animations on it. It's a simple, clean skin with some minor ornamentation. Apart from the obvious collector's standpoint, and some niche uses in pve, dual vamps do have actual use for pvp.
Got a free account, I'm having fun making all of the character names silly (don't feel like making legitimate names) and about ectos They include: Got No Ectos, Got No Ectoz, Ecto Stacks R Us, Obby is for Nerds, and No Ectos for Me My mesmer on my main account would have fit right in (Ektos Plasma)

Rajazan's Fevor or whatever it is called... I used it on my Dervish quite a bit
That's correct. Rajazan's Fervor uses the broadsword skin, which makes it infinitely better than a Totem Axe.
My mesmer on my main account would have fit right in (Ektos Plasma)
Give me a yell when/if you get that thing to DoA. Yumm needs some more decent people for that and you at least listen which puts you way ahead of a few people (mostly from their ally) that I've had on training runs with them. Hurr durr arcane echo a signet, why is the spike failing gaiz? :bang:
I just double checked the stats in that image and I realise I was wrong about the stats of the sword I own... I can see why it'd cost that much, having a perfect innate vampiric strength ability... I should trade my Totem Axe for a Rajazan's Fervor... don't they have about the same value?
Hurr durr arcane echo a signet, why is the spike failing gaiz? :bang:
Wowwww
What does Yumm want for requirements? I am a friend of a person in Yumm, Grimmlett, and I cant really talk to her that much for the week to ask.
That's probably a different Yumm. I'm not aware of anyone named that in Yumm, though I'm not in the guild with them. I've just been doing a few training runs with them for DoA. It's a speed clear guild. Don't want to speed clear and just want general pve? Don't bother joining. You will just be wasting your time. As far as requirements go, they only require that you have and use vent on every run. Experience isn't really an issue with them, but if you don't improve and fail a lot of runs you will not make many friends. General rules about not being a shithead still apply. They will teach people how to do things, and I certainly hang out on their vent enough and am willing to teach stuff. Not that I'm the lord of FoW or any of that crap, but I know my way around the game. They aren't a top end guild, but they are good people. If you want to get into legitimately high end runs like 15 minute FoWs, sub conset UWs and DoAs, then Yumm will not provide. If conset FoWS, and 2 conset UWs are acceptable, they aren't a bad guild. Their DoA players are extremely new to it and getting a sub 90 minute run is hard work. If you are interested let me know, and I can get you in touch with their officers.
Wowwww
You are going to find people who are too stupid, or just don't give enough of a damn, to do things right no matter where you go. I wish this wasn't true, but as an example, just today someone got kicked from my guild because he was trying to TK with rank 0 asura. Rank 7 asura on a mesmer is a requirement to join the guild I am in. This guy was trolling that he had done it with R0 when I have personally seen him fail it several times. He raged at some people and got a boot as a result. Keep in mind the guild I am in is supposed to be a very high end guild. It has held the DoA records numerous times.
GO TO EMBARK BEACH, when you see it, you'll laugh your arse off and its probably only for today so be quick
it was alright
http://www.guildwars2.com/en/the-game/professions/commando/ I laughed quite heartily.
Guys the quest is apparently gonna be around all weekend :buddy: Also check out the update notes, first posted in the GW2 thread http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Feedback:Game_updates/20110401 [editline]1st April 2011[/editline] I especially like this one

Mind Craft: "For the next 4...15 seconds, your attacks deal Earth damage. Deals +40 bonus damage and knocks down if you have a pickaxe equipped."
