Well only 100 zkeys to go until I can put it in HoM. Just need to make 600k, fuuuuuuuuuck
I am really excited for Guild Wars 2, but I never really played the first one(s). Is it worth picking up Eye of the North for the Hall of Monuments stuff? Do we know exactly what the rewards are right now?

(As a result, you can't own -just- eotn.) My advice is to pick up the trilogy (10-15 dollar) and eotn (5 dollar), seeing as you'll need all of them to fill out your HoM to any decent level. 3) Yes the rewards are known, you can check here: http://hom.guildwars2.com/en/#page=welcome Enter any character name and it'll take you to the result page for the character, which will include: -How much you have done -What rewards points and how many -What you still need/(can) do -Which rewards you get at certain points. The first 30 points give you tangible rewards, after which the last 20 points only give you titles (4 versions of the same title track, at a 5 level interval)
Sweet, thanks for the info. I have the trilogy on steam but never got around to playing it. Where can I find EOTN for $5? Its $30 on Steam.

Delivery time is a day at most (over the weekends), and if you're really cautious, just load a paypal account with 5$ and don't give it any withdrawal rights.
Sometimes Death Penalty just ruins the game for me. I get that there should be a penalty for dying, but making it so high that it's literally impossible to finish your mission bothers me. I feel like if they want to take the time and do it even when penalized, they should be able to. Kinda hard to do that when a single spell can 1 hit you, and any enemies you kill are ressurected

But death penalty was never a problem, not even in the early days of hardmode. No skill can 1shot a player that isn't using a ton of sups, and just bring frozen soil or interrupt.
I need one one point for 15 http://hom.guildwars2.com/en/#page=main&details=AAAAAAAQCOCAAAEAAgDAAAAAAgAAAAAAFCIAAAAAAAA Don't know what I need for an easy point. Any armor, or any destroyer wep. That'd be the fastest. Otherwise just two titles.
No, a single title will get him 3 points. I'd go for a Protector title. Cantha was the easiest for me. +1 Armor would be 60k+, Destroyer weapon would be 50k. +1 Cheapest AND easiest would probably be Hero statues. Dunkoro, Koss, Melonni, Acolyte Jin and Sousuke, can be done with Sunspear armor. It's ridiculously easy, getting it for them would probably take less than an hour. And if you for some reason don't feel like earning it, it would be 6k each, so 24k for a point.
Ah, I just looked at progression on the bars, didn't realize they were that big at the first few titles. (Was comparing it to already having 35+ done)

As are guardian and vanquisher with 7 heroes. Having 3 mesmers and 2+ necros utterly crushes most foes, and you don't even need mercenary slots. All it is is a question of time. How long are you willing to work towards a tittle? With a general setup and actually putting runes and weapon sets on your heroes you can run into most mobs, alt tab, come back, loot, and then repeat.
I need one one point for 15 http://hom.guildwars2.com/en/#page=main&details=AAAAAAAQCOCAAAEAAgDAAAAAAgAAAAAAFCIAAAAAAAA Don't know what I need for an easy point.
One unique miniature such as the black moa chick would get you a point Four companion statues would also get you a point One honor statue would get you 3 points, though depending on your progress in assorted titles it is difficult to determine which one would be easiest. One armor would get you one point. Obsidian, Vabbian, Kurzick, or Luxon would get you two points. One tormented or destroyer weapon would get you a point. As for costs and ease, if you have the money buy hero armors. 30k will easily get you 4-6 of them, or you can farm them in various challenge missions. That should not take more than an hour. The black moa chick isn't difficult to get but it is somewhat time intensive, or you can find someone selling a green minipet and buy that. Varesh is fairly cheap these days as are bone dragons, and the moa is quite cheap as well. Armor is generally going to be 60k to craft + materials, but if you have the money that's an instant way to get points. The same with weapons, though tormented weapons are closer to 175k. Honor has a huge array of things that require very little effort such as simply completing the Deep or Urgoz once. You don't have to do that in Hard Mode. Protector titles are also easy, though somewhat time intensive in comparison. It's only when you get to about 30 that things start to require large investments of time and/or money. Past 40-45 and things get ridiculous for the average player.
I decided to buy a minipet instead. 54k and 12 Destroyer Cores for a Bone Dragon. And now I'm broke! Oh well, it's all for a good cause.
that's not a bad deal... I guess bone dragon's come down in price. I remember selling mine for 85k. Should have kept it, because those guys rock... Oh well, I was broke at the time!
I only have 15 points... I really hope I wont be missing the rewards in GW2.
So I brought this game 4 years ago, never got past level 5 and have 3 HoM points. Now to start again, do you think I can make it to 30 before Q2 2012? [editline]30th May 2011[/editline] Q2 is just my release date guess.

A few of my friends are already over 30/50 and they've started back in march.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and assume you're decent at the game. You should devise a strategy of some kind as well, so you know what points to aim at getting.
I owned Guild Wars but gave up trying to play it when I lost one of the 2 CD's. Found out there's a download client years later. It asks for a account name and password (got that by resetting it) It asks for a character name in the account for a security question. Fuck.

If you have the serial keys, you can basically get all the other information (they'll reset the password, not tell it to you).
Also the monthly flux changed today. It's now: For every 2% death penalty you do 1% more damage. Only useful in GvG.
Well I guess I better get going, level 10 after 3 hours.
Well I guess I better get going, level 10 after 3 hours.
Level 10 -> Eye of the North -> That Repeatable quest where you punch dwarves in a cave that's extremely easy. You'll be level 20 in 2 hours, if that

They can indeed be.
