Installing Factions for shits and giggles, I found it in the back of my closet. [editline]23rd September 2011[/editline] Well nevermind it's already in use by an account I made like 6 years ago, and I don't even think I have the email address anymore. Neat
Yeah it is a bit of a hassle with old character names and such, but you can get it back.
Yeah it is a bit of a hassle with old character names and such, but you can get it back.
Hell, I forgot my username and password for my NCsoft Master Account that my Guild Wars account is linked too. I didn't do anything about it for two years and I just contacted their support 3 months ago and recovered my Master Account in less than 3 hours. Their support is great. (Btw the master account was required to play Guild Wars, it's just there as an extra security precaution.)
I am aware of numerous account mergings in the past, but something to be aware of is that you will probably lose everything on one account if you do that. They don't merge characters. They simply delete/disable one account, and then add the key to another.
I'll be playing this weekend, if anyone needs help with HoM points or just wants to play, hit me up, I play a ranger named Corin the Wise.
Just installed it yesterday, had some trouble with my account, forgot the email it was on, then the password, and now I cant remember any characters. They told me I need to send them my cd key(Only have Nightfall)
I have Nightfall somewhere, but I can't find it.
can't you remember your account?
can't you remember your account?
No, but I haven't emailed the support yet. But I mean I can't find the actual disc. I found Factions, but Nightfall is nowhere to be seen.
No, but I haven't emailed the support yet. But I mean I can't find the actual disc. I found Factions, but Nightfall is nowhere to be seen.
Just download it from their website, at least that's what I did.

Just install Factions, the game will fully install if you have an internet connection. You don't need all discs, just one. Also you can just download the game from the website.
Just found and sold a white dye and used the profits to get the lower half of a platemail suit
I'm seriously lost in this game... So much stuff to do.
Just found and sold a white dye and used the profits to get the lower half of a platemail suit
If you saw my storage, let alone storage chars, you'd try to kill me. :v: To be fair though, I do sort of miss the days when weapon mods and such were more expensive, and I couldn't really afford fancy stuff. I'd gleefully keep a +29 fortitude mod because that was good and fairly uncommon. Now people scoff at anything that isn't absolutely perfect.
Random person I bought 200 consets from: Thanks, do you by any chance need 150 powerstones for 3k each? Me: No, but I'll buy them anyways. :v: In related news I now have 13k in storage. I'm going to have to actually sell gemsets before Halloween rolls around. I plan on buying a metric fuck ton of ToT stacks to round out my personal consumable collection and set myself up so I truly never need to buy anything ever again. If people on FP are farming them, I will be buying at the end of the event for reasonable prices. You can probably make more selling at the start of the event, but I will happily buy whatever is left at the end of the event after the prices crash. (With the amount of mobstoppers in circulation the prices WILL crash unless there is a new quest chain.) Basically, if people want to make a quick buck or two, give me a yell. Three years ago I would have been sickened by the amount I've now invested in various forms of candy and candy like items. Now I'm just building a fallout shelter made of candy corn so I never need to make contact with civilization once the game finally and truly dies. WTS gemsets 11k each, 10 = 100k (x400 sets) I can also craft braces and sell those if people here want them. I know a lot of people are working on their HoMs and need tormented equipment. EDIT: My automerge.
I am planning on farming me some ToTs, that's always good fun. I'll be sure to sell 'em to you if you're around when I'm selling, although I won't charge super-cheap. I WILL charge reasonably, i usually go for slightly lower than the regular price.
That's fine, but do keep in mind I'm not buying at the start of the event. The prices always drop, and I'm not paying for stuff at the beginning. If you have surplus later on, I will buy around 50-100 stacks. Not entirely sure how many I want at the moment. I may find someone selling just the items I want out of stacks and snag a bunch from him. Edit: Of course I don't expect any one person to farm that many. That's just nonsense outside of hardcore UWers with stacks of mobstoppers.
I am not gonna farm that much, but if I have surplas left over I'll let you buy. If I don't, I'll probably still have less than one stack which I will give away for free if I don't use them myself.
Ugh, I hate how the Afflicted in Winds of Change are uber-buffed, they shut down discord builds, it's annoying as hell.
So don't run discord? From recently on the GW2 megathread.
Multiple copies of panic end up being redundant and cut into your damage. Discord is also relatively weak in 7 hero teams because of the emphasis on support effects needed for its conditional damage, and on top of that it's single target damage. Those skills become completely irrelevant when you can pump out 500-800 damage in a nearby (which is enormous, especially when compared to adjacent) range in roughly 5 seconds with a solid team setup, all the while having a defense web of blind, rupts, and assorted shutdown. The fast casting buff warps things. There is almost no reason to ever not run 3 mesmer heroes outside of small team areas because their shutdown effects like mistrust, cry, the assorted shatter skills, and anti melee effects not only hinder enemies in damage reduction, but pump out triple digit armor ignoring hits in nearby range. Fast casting fuels this as well, making the recharges on these effects essentially trivial. snip
Discord has been weak for years. The seven hero update only made it even more antiquated.
I'd love some help with a mission. The hatchery one. It's really hard solo.
I'd love some help with a mission. The hatchery one. It's really hard solo.
Did you use the backdoor glitch/strategy? It's on the wiki.

What expansions do I need for the gear for GW2? Also, does anyone play at all still?
What expansions do I need for the gear for GW2? Also, does anyone play at all still?
Eye of the North. [editline]8th October 2011[/editline] You need one of the other games to play EoTN aswell.
Get Nightfall + EotN or Prophecies + EotN Factions you can skip out on unless you just really like Guild Wars, but it's generally the least favorite campaign EotN is pretty damn good, and Prophecies is the original GW we all fell in love with, so of course that's good, and Nightfall is pretty solid, clean and fun Factions is just annoying. A lot of Go here from here down this one route that you'll get attacked on every 9 seconds by extreme Degeneration effects, not to mention the city's a fucking maze
How many players still play?
How many players still play?
A lot of people still play, but not so much doing the missions as you level up.
There are very few people working on characters anymore. Everything except endgame content is practically dead. That does happen in most MMOs at some point, but few other games are as dependent on team play. You can get by with henchmen, but you will be crippled, especially for hard mode content, without a solid team setup using heroes.
Would you guys recommend purchasing through Steam or not? I'd like to get the original campaign and EOTN, and Steam has it relatively cheap.
