Yes, but the quests practically never refer to each other in any way outside of the closing moments in EoTN. I don't even recall if the henchmen mention stuff from the past when you talk to them. Also I should clarify the pissing people off part before anyone takes that the wrong way since my initial statement is relatively ambiguous. Many people would be greatly pissed if you had to complete WiK before finishing WoC because a great deal of people despise WiK.
The henchmen in Eotn constantly mention the past, so do the heroes (livia, kahmu, xandra)

EoTN probably has the most of any because of it being the final expansion.
Well nick's dialogue certainly has a morbid tone to it this week. It remains to be seen how he is going to go about visiting locations. This dialogue is different than the first one, though he is in an identical position.
That gave me a sad
How long would it take for a new player to get GWAMM? Also, what is a good solo class to get said title?
You don't solo in this game. Your profession isn't important if you are working on titles. Any profession can be backed up by a strong hero setup and clear everything. Pick something you enjoy playing. Certain professions technically have benefits, but they aren't important enough to make or break anything if you enjoy a particular play style or set of skills.

I just can't get myself to grind up. They take quite a while. I don't have GWAMM, but I'd guess if you get really serious it would still cost tons of time and platinum. Probably months and months of continuous play. But again, I can't really know for sure.
Wintersday is upon us! Rejoice!
Just opened my 6th b-day present. Got Ogden.

Hey everybody I'm looking for people to do the campaigns; my brother deleted my characters a whiiile ago and now I'm not getting anything the hall of monuments other than pets. What easy achievements can be done for the HoM?

When beating the campaigns, always go for the bonus as it'll save you time and get you the Protector title.
Yeah I'll re-do the whole campaign Only thing is I'm playing alone and I'm kind of stuck at the normally easy one where you have to activate the shrines to open the portal, the opponents always steal one shrine when we're about to win even though I place all my heroes to stop them, is there a trick to do it alone?

If so what I did was put down all my heroes on the small pathway between two hills that all the white mantle run through. While I was able to do it without cripples, things like frost slows, crippling attacks, mesmer slows, etc. make it easier. You slow the runners, kill off the rest of the group, then finish off the runner. If the runner gets killed, it spawns the next group with another runner so you might get overwhelmed. After a bit the white mantle will run out of spawns, then just kill the demagogue and activate all the pedestals at your own leisure.
Yes indeed! I did not know they would run out of spawns! Thanks
Farewell Wintersday! See you next year!
http://guildwars.com/gameplay/developer_updates/january_2012_skill_balances.php Thoughts? In theory, I like the HM changes, but I haven't tried yet.(Skyrim...) I don't know Ele very well, so I'm not sure on all of that. The Glaive and SoS nerfs are interesting too.
Wow that update actually made me want to make an Elementalist on my secondary account and get legendary vanquisher with it, making new builds each time I do an area.
it's great that they're still updating gw1
The changes nerf armor ignoring damage for general pve. lvl 26-28 mobs now end up with 20-30% more health than they used to. It doesn't really buff elemental damage. You do bigger numbers, but mobs have more health. It's a soft nerf to armor ignoring damage, but armor ignoring damage still dominates because of the utility effects you can bring. Part of the problem is that none of the core skills really got reworked. Searing Flames, Rodgort's Invocation, Savanah Heat, Liquid Flame, Deep Freeze, Meteor, just to name a few. All of these have been core skills in spike teams. None of them got touched. None of the reworked skills really fit in the niche that these skills do, and that is large amounts of AoE damage. For the elite areas like DoA, mobs have over a thousand health already. An extra 200 health is almost meaningless when you have skills that hit for 150. There are one or two spikes that become a little bit more difficult due to timing mechanics, but on the whole this only makes it a tiny bit more difficult for a 3 man spike team to carry some moron. A 4 man spike team is still preposterous amounts of overkill. The DWG nerfs will not break glaiveway, though they certainly reduce the power of it. Starburst is looking like a more interesting possibility for people who don't run trenchway tactics. PvP on the other hand, is going to be a bloodbath. Many of the skills that got reworked were left untouched for very good reasons. Stuff like ice prism essentially reads, remove target melee player from the game for half the match. Making skills like obsidian flame have half exhaustion encourages some scary spike teams. It's difficult to determine the effects this will have on unorganized stuff like RA, but the GvG and HA prospects are somewhat terrifying.
Just traded some shitty TF2 items for 200 plat, any suggestions on what I could buy to get the most points? I have no armors/weapons and I have only one white mini in my HoM. I'm quite new so I don't want to get scammed or make a cost inefficient purchase.

Buy hero armor with the rest of your cash and put a new set of armor on each of your heroes which should get you up 4 points without pets. The Animal Companion statue is easy and doesn't require any gold. Just make a PvP ranger and equip Charm Animal. Goto the Zaishen Menagerie and show Emryd the Tamer your level 20 Elder Wolf that comes with a PvP ranger. Next, go on your PvE character and head back to the Menagerie. Charm the level 20 wolf that you can get from Wynn now that you unlocked it from your PvP character. Take the wolf to "Fellowship" and dedicate it for an easy point.
Can the Destroyer weapon be put in the HoM if its customized to someone else?
Can the Destroyer weapon be put in the HoM if its customized to someone else?
Nope.

Guild wars on steam is just normal guild wars. It doesn't use any of the steam APIs. Any trade conducted that way is a two part trade, and subject to scams. It's also considered real money trading by Anet, so you'd better be damn careful who knows what you may or may not be doing. All it takes is one person who wants to be a dick, and you risk loosing anything you gained in game, as well as account suspension. Bottom line, don't be open about trading for things outside the game. Keep it as secretive as possible.
Hello, members of the GW thread. I, after many years of playing, have started my own guild, The Columbia Society [TOS]. I'm planning on it being rather social in nature, with members assisting each other with PvE and PvP as they see fit. I'm largely a PvE player, but I have been looking to get into some higher-level PvP, so we'll likely expand further in that direction as time goes on. We have a cape and a hall (Isle of the Dead), and I am currently working on gathering the funds to finish maxing it out. Now, if any of you would like to join up, here's the deal with recruiting right now: -We are extremely new, currently only consisting of my personal friends, a couple GW buddies, and one FPer. -As we are so new, officer positions for new members are likely, though not guaranteed. -I'm not elitist in the slightest when it comes to game skill and riches, but I am elitest when it comes to sociability and intelligence. I reserve the right to deny people entry simply because I don't like them. -Your financial support in getting the guild running is greatly appreciated, but it is by no means required and I will not pester you or think any less of you for giving me nothing at all. And lastly, an unusual but I think you'll find quite rewarding aspect of the guild: One of my main activities is going to rich cities (ex. Lion's Arch), and standing near the xunlai chests. I then ask people for vendor trash, unused weapons, skill tomes, etc. to give out to new players. I then proceed to an early-game city (Ascalon or Shingjea Monastery, perhaps) and hand out these donated items, as well as some of my own, to those who look as though they need them; players that are usually under lvl 20, and have no titles, minipets, or expensive-looking equipment. As the guild grows I'll be able to expand these activities, and you are more than welcome to join in. Anybody is welcome to help me gather donations (or to donate themselves), to organize and sell them, and to distribute to the newbies. Thanks for reading my pitch. I know that most of you have been with a guild for quite some time, perhaps years, but for any of you who are floating free right now, I hope you'll consider my offer. The application process will pretty much consist of you contacting my character (Ben Stokes), answering some basic questions about the way you play, and generally having a conversation to see if you're the right fit for us and vice versa. Hope some of you consider me for your non-elected guild official! [img_thumb]https://p.twimg.com/Aia4WwyCIAIR1LX.jpg:large[/img_thumb]
