Instead of a dedicated healer, you should try 3/4 heroes running support with healing in it. Minion master and necro protectors with an SoS healing rit will take you almost anywhere in HM. a great one is on the pvx wiki called 7 hero player support.

A really weird mix of skills that makes me kind of iffy of using it. But I'm willing to try anything at this point. I'm stonewalled at the harder parts of Sorrow's Furnace and WiK.
It works very well, I switched some skills around depending on the area, but I beat all the campaigns on HM with M+B with that team. with smaller areas It was usually sos rit, MM, and psychic instability mesmer
Ugh. Of fucking course. Some of the Elites are in Factions and I absolutely abhor Factions in all its horror. Now I have to either find a substitute, grind Z quests to get those Elite tomes, or suffer Faction quests until I can get where the single elite mob is with the skill I need. EDIT: Seems I don't need SoS, but t'would be helpful. Hmph.
Post your IGN. I can give you modified setups optimized for specific professions. Use flames of balthazzar to unlock skills, or just go capping. You don't need tomes. Elites in factions are literally, map to nearest town, walk outside, kill 3 - 5 groups, cap.
I don't have beyond Vizunah Square mapped.
That's not an IGN.
Marri the Vigilant, Warrior. Had this weird stint with giving suffix title to some of my characters. Oddly enough, most fit. Used to have a Monk but lost that account ages ago.
And again, WiK proves to be the biggest cunt in history. I'm just going to quit trying at this point as it seems pretty intent at making me do a metric fuckton of walking only to be beset by infini-spawns of patrols and dwindling patience to do something that seems within reach, only for random to come in (Patrols come from random directions at a random interval. Fun.)
Every single suggestion made by several people has been met with skepticism, scorn, whining and total defeatism on your part. Several people have tried to give you useful advice and all you've done is bitch and moan about how shits too goddam hard for poor little old you. You have been handed information about one of the most optimized general purpose hero teams in the entire fucking game, and apparently can't even be fucked to try it. Run this team build with razah as esurge. For 6 player areas, drop the esurge and ineptitude mesmer. http://www.gwpvx.com/Build:Team_-_7_Hero_Player_Support Instead of the ray of judgement in that team run this with mark of pain and barbs in the optionals. http://www.gwpvx.com/Build:N/any_Orders_Necromancer For yourself run this. You may wish to run death's charge. http://www.gwpvx.com/Build:W/any_PvE_Hundred_Blades_Warrior You have the most powerful hero healing in the fucking game, several multiplier effects like splinter and MoP, boosters like the orders, as well as shutdown, support, minion walls, and damage from the rest of the team. The only content that team cannot utterly shit on is some hard mode areas and a few areas that require more advanced team splits. In normal mode, fucking C space everything. I give you one last line of advice as a gesture of good will. Now, you are on your own. I'm tired of the attitude. Do with this information what you wish. I don't care anymore.
You act like I've gone out and attacked you. Don't know why you think that all of this pressure is on you as I'm not saying it's your fault or anything. I'm already running 7-support and it's worked. Wonderfully. Managed to run past some of the harder quests that gave me the hardest times (WiK excluded). Maybe it hasn't occured to you that I'm having trouble doing the end-game content because it's hard as hell? I'm trying, using said information, but that doesn't exclude the fact it's still hard as hell. Yes, my defeatism is something that can be irritating, but that's a personal issue. Can't tell me "suck it up" like it's some kind of magic cure. Can always ignore me if I'm such a fucking pest to you. I've taken yours and others' advice, mulled over it, and either accepted or denied it. Maybe modify it a bit. In fact, you and one other guy are the only ones giving advice that's actually useful instead of just reading it and moving on. Don't assume I'm not using it, but don't assume shit is easier because I'm using your advice.
None of the WiK content is the least bit challenging with that team build. In some areas you must stand your ground for extremely gratuitous amounts of time, (unless you are pulling some really aggressive shit), but none of it should ever be more than moderately difficult.
Maybe for you. I've found them to be either really challenging (Limited to just 6 guys and the mobs can chew through squishy units) or really really long (Riverside Assassination). I have to count my steps and be extra cautious to avoid any backdooring patrols or timed patrols that make their way into zones I need to clear out.
Bah, 1.1 million Survivor exp down the drain. Died as Thack (Why does that even reset your progress?). Oh well.

With that build you can literally leave your keyboard, and your heroes will win almost every fight in the entire game, either normal mode or hard mode. It's one of the reasons why nothing is challenging anymore, only if you gimp yourself by using subpar builds does challenge sort-of return to the game.
Well I still find things challenging, even with that build. The build just makes things easier on me instead of losing my shit because my healer decided to eat dirt.
Since the launch of Guild Wars in 2005 we’ve stayed locked into our original minimum system requirements. Unfortunately, the game has reached a point where this is preventing us from deploying important features. After serious consideration, we’ve decided that Guild Wars will no longer be supported on Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows 98 SE, and Windows ME beginning June 14, 2012. In order to continue to play Guild Wars after this date, we recommend upgrading to a more recent version of Windows. Realistically, we do not expect this to impact the vast majority of Guild Wars players. Our logs indicate that fewer than 0.05% of our active players use one of these versions of Windows. Discontinuing support for older versions of Windows allows us to deploy features that will improve account management and security. We will be updating the System Requirements on our websites, but we wanted to provide an advance notice to you so that you can prepare for the change. If you have any questions, please visit the Guild Wars Support Forums: https://forum.guildwars.com/forum/forums/tech/Discontinuing-support-for-older-versions-of-Windows/
Wow, does this mean they are STILL going to support the game with updates? Pretty cool.
Finally movin' on up.
Call me cynical, but it does not necessarily mean that. I'd wager a disproportionate number of problems come from users of these archaic systems. This lets them move forward with a few things here and there, but it allows for an enormous cut in coding and support time. Legacy systems are just that, legacy, and supporting them can be an absolute nightmare at times. If I had a nickel for every time someone I knew had to hack some stupid garbage into code to keep it operational in environments that should have been thrown in an incinerator a decade earlier, I'd probably be able to buy a decent car. Not a Mercedes, but certainly something decent. Admittedly guild wars isn't using java, but the same principles apply. This kills two birds with one stone. They don't have to code for this, and if someone has problems that can just tell them to just go away.
Just started Aurora Glade HM for Guardian. OH BOY HERE WE GO. [editline]1[/editline] Beat it first try thanks to some wiki-tactics!

It's not too surprising that there are those that still use outdated/obsolete tech to play games. No doubt it calls for a huge slash in regards to coding since they no longer have to code for those different OS types. I can probably imagine the cry of joy programmers did when they went through with this decision :v
I've started playing this. Getting my Rit through all the campaigns atm, heroes are hard to manage though :( Can anyone suggest an easy enough setup? I'm currently a healing Rit, because I'm better at healing than the AI. Rolling with a Warrior, Monk, 2 Eles, spike and AoE, 2 Mesmers, Domination and Illusion, and a minion master Necro. The only problem I've had so far is huge spike damage, mainly from enemy Mesmers/Eles.
This is basically all you need for general PvE. But you could always experiment with shut downs and spikes or AoE or all of these if you're not lazy. Just search skills that you think would be beneficial in a certain area and search skills that would benefit from this. It's all quite obvious. I myself like to have a Panic mesmer, a melee shutdown mesmer, a minion master, one SoS, one ST, a healer necro and a RoJ monk when I am playing on my Dervish.
This is basically all you need for general PvE.
No tank?
No tank?
I usually do the tanking on my characters. Works perfectly fine when I am smiting on my monk. It's perfect for general PvE.
Getting all of those skills will require a lot of money, does anyone have any decent money making (PvE) schemes?
Is Password Reset screwed up for anyone else?
No tank?
What's the point? It's not like general pve mobs are at all threatening. The only reason you tank stuff in organized teams is to allow you to clear multiple groups at once. For general pve, you are rarely trying to do this. For general purpose stuff an ST or copy or two of protective spirit and shield of absorption makes everything a 'tank'

In any case, thanks to Zephyrs and Abysal, I finally managed to beat the WiK content using those builds. The last mission was a close shave as I nearly wiped on the last two Mursaat bosses. Of course, I still lost my Survivor progress when I died as Thack in HotN, but whatever. Now I can finally take on the challenges of Factions and progress into the general unknown of Cantha. Thank you c:
