the beta is unoptimized

Nvidia gtx 560 here and i was playing a notch above the "medium" setting and it was still a bit stuttery in open world places, hopefully it becomes more optimised on release

Yep, seems to be over now. It was fun while it lasted, though! Very fun game and I have no regrets about spending £50 on it.

It is still going, I've been disconnected about 5 times now but everytime have had no problems just reconnecting.

Yeah, I'm back on again. I guess it makes sense that this keeps happening; they are stress testing after all :P

Damn, my gw1 account no longer works... Atleast it gets the 'no beta event running' error now. That means I have to restart with the actual beta account. Atleast I can login with that.

Was just playing for an hour or so. Definite potential with this game, the starting story was really awesome. Game is obviously unoptimized, I'm playing on a laptop with a 560m and was getting around 20fps at the lowest with the setting in the middle of the bar. Sometimes I feel like the screen can be a bit chaotic (action) and cluttered (UI) wise but that willl just take getting used to the game.

seems like it might be really bad for ati cards from what you guys are saying, i have a 6950. let's hope they do a ton of optimization before launch but... i doubt it...

well it sure as hell didnt run fine on my desktop. got 7 FPS at one point (the charr bit where you are supposed to get to the crypt and there's wounded guys everywhere, really early on. only played for like 5 minutes before it ended).

Bump that resolution up to 1920x1280 and this is the most minimalistic UI you will ever find in a MMO today. Never before have I noticed the amount of work that have been put into the UI. SWTOR boasted about having decent UI but that was clunky as hell. It is no where near being clunky in this game.

Gives ANet a better estimate of how many connections a server can handle before melting into poo.

Don't think you'll be able to do that until the actual release.

i hope they eventually do another stress test where they keep it running for a week or so straight with lots of players

then they'll eventually do a permanent stress test (aka release)
