Guild Wars 2 V2: GOTY 2017 or How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love Arenanet - Games

We recently finished our first closed beta test, and we’re now ready to hold progressively larger events. In February we’ll invite select press to participate in beta testing, and in March and April we’ll aggressively ramp up the size of our beta test events so that many of you will have a chance to participate. And of course, this all leads to the release of Guild Wars 2 later this year. edit: Oh great, thank you Alex.. :v:

While I am a little bit disappointed that release/OB wont be before April, I can still say Fuck Yes! At least some definite news is better than speculation.

now most mmo's have their open beta in the week/month before launch march/april open beta isnt april when gw1 has its anniversary I wonder.....

They don't want to be spoiling all of the content or giving people too much access to the game before release. That way it stays fresh for everyone. I'm glad they're taking this route instead of dropping the entire game on the beta players.

Wait. I'm thinking they're going to do the early access for pre-orders since they mentioned the similarities to the system they did back with Factions and Nightfall.

I hope they have a few events where old GW players or people who bought EoTN can get in.

i remember the GW1 open beta events. those weekends were the best game experiences i think Ive ever had.
