Probably going to get this just to play with my friend. I never played GW1 so could someone tell me how the combat system is in this?
Yes, I will. It will be a couple hours after the beta opens, though, I won't be home right when it starts.
I also need 2 or 3 people to make their own guilds, which each of the 3-4 will join. This will let us test how being in multiple guilds works.

The system in GW1 is completely different than the one in GW2. You can just watch some gameplay videos of GW2 on youtube.

Man, I'm excited for you guys. I'm not being sarcastic. Its actually better that I don't have it right now since then I'd blow that entire weekend playing instead of studying for my last final.

tl;dr Chris Thursten explains (in detail) his playthrough as a female human warrior and all the adventures within. Nothing new to massively hyped fans like us, but still and interesting read.
I hate how I cant play this because I'm in school and three hours away from my ~gaming~ computer.

If it were the way you wanted, the logo would face towards your chest while drinking, and none of your GW2-nerd drinking buddies would be able to see it.
This way, while you are holding the mug with your right hand, it faces away from you, showing it off to anybody nearby. I like that idea better.

I guess it depends:
Amazon doesn't have anything on the store page mentioning pre-purchase benefits or beta codes, neither does Best Buy.
Gamestop does, so I guess either them or ArenaNet (I want a physical copy so Gamestop it is).

honestly i don't think the release date will be until late 2012. 6/26 is far too soon, games this large without a release date wouldn't put it 2 months from now. usually games will set a release date 5-6 months from when it's announced. I just have a hard time seeing them saying "game will be released in 2 months" it just doesn't give them enough time to hype it up for release

For example, halo 4's released date was announced the other day and it's november 6th. that's over 6 months from now. it gives them plenty of time to hype up the game and that's usually how long game companies give to do such things
I don't have the cash to pre-order, and I am sad.

You also have to think about why they are allowing beta events and pre-orders. Usually means the game is coming out within the next few months. The game is pretty much finished at this point and only requires tweaking, bug fixes, and optimization. Hell even PC Gamer got views of end game dungeons which means most of that content, if not all is complete.

i meant from when the RELEASE DATE is announced, not the actual game. when they announce a release date for a game in april usually the release date for that game will be in october or november. and games can be in beta for several months prior to launch, ESPECIALLY MMOs. just because they're allowing beta events is absolutely no indication of the actual launch being any time soon

So they told me that there will be another CE with the same contet like the pre purchase one except that it will contain the game cd. I'm still not 100% sure if it's real but don't give up the hope eternalflamez.

Yay! I never will. After a while I'm betting I could buy the statue seperately on ebay (or the dutch equivalent)
But the pre-purchase CE also contains the game CD.
