Another thing about those 15-20 min bosses is that they should amp up the rewards. It kinda sucks when you spend that much time on a boss and you're rewarded with a greatsword that's slightly worse than your current one.
That's only an issue because people all camped the flame shammy.
He wouldn't be that hard if there were less people around him nonstop.

Hacks, Lance and I had this problem with the boss in wayfarer foothills. We fought and killed him twice and the we each either didn't' get anything or got a white quality weapon.

Well you have to admit that is an awesome combat situation that is actually difficult and fun. The only problem is that he is so easy to get to and he's right next to a waypoint with several events nearby, so it's kind of obvious that he's there.

oh and here have another video:

I don't think they should do anything about the boss difficulty, it's what makes it so much fun. Although I'm all for making his ability usage (like the shield) more prominent.
Threads slowing down again, heres a screenshot (should have tried raising settings for this).

Is the location on that map where you took that first screenshot? It looks beautiful! Almost looks like part of the Ascalon wall.

That is part of the Great Northern Wall.
Uploading some of my video from the event. First, just the tonics I managed to test out: Snow Owl, Snow Leopard, Floater, Devourer, and Moa.
Also, I got a video of someone else being the Snake. Snake is definitely my favorite tonic.

the snake model was probably one of the most impressive things i saw in the guild wars 2 beta
I really liked the Sylvari village of Darkheart.

is that the one that was constantly under siege by zombies?
fuck that place ugh
Ok so i'm trying to finish off my z-key farm/grind...and this is pissing me off so much! Either side I join we lose. It's full of bots and people who abuse their class skills. I can't believe after so many years this game is still so unbalanced...
I really really really fucking hope GW2 doesn't turn out like this. GW1 used to be so much fun but now it's such a boring ass grind that makes me want to kill myself everytime I play it.

Ahh I remember that! I was trying to find you there when you were telling everybody about it. It was swarming with enemies.
So how's the events, are they really as dynamic as they claimed? Does the world change in any way?
Ugh, I can't login to my NCsoft Account I used for GW1, already sent 3 E-Mails to the support in the last 2 weeks, they won't answer me, does anybody have a good idea?

It is far more relaxing to have the quests pop up if your in the area instead of going to question mark NPCs to get your quests.
I like the progressing they make, so they definitly do a hell of a lot changing for me. Also if you fail some of the quests the AI can rape you in some places because you 'lost' that area.
Um, question: who still plays GW1 here? I would like to get my R/W out of the effing dessert and finally finish Prophecies so I can move on to Factions and Nightfall...
Either that or help me grind my Ele so I can spam nukes erry day.
I knwo my Elementalists name is Lance Von Sertis for sure, R/W... no idea.

with the current beta values, not as much as it could. they're occurring every 5 minutes or so, so it just seems like a back and forth trade with little consequence most of the time.
arenanet's been getting a lot of responses regarding the cycle times, and i'd expect the events to be a bit more random and a bit less clockwork by release
I think that they are the way they are now so that most beta participants have the same-ish experience.
I think that they are the way they are now so that most beta participants have the same-ish experience.
considering they have 3 days to play, yes that's quite likely.
Yeah I'm sure they are going to be different than release because I don't think the Shadow Behemoth is supposed to spawn every two hours..
I'm typically in another voice chat.
Why aren't you guys ever in the group chat?
._.
next beta i will join that chat and quite possibly use voice , itll pick up a lot when we get more consistent content

You sure you sent it right? I had the same problem and I got it fixed in less than a day.

Same here, forgot my character name and they answered within an hour, after sending details they responded within 20 mins. I was chocked.

They're more like Diablo bosses than WoW bosses. They don't outright have better drops, they just have a higher chance to drop good gear. Most of the the time, they just drop a blue.
In fact, I think this whole game would be a lot more understandable if people just considered it to be like Diablo compared to WoW.
That's what I actually say to WoW players talking about GW2.
ive been wishing for years that wow would use token's instead of random drops , its such a downer if you win nothing. or if someone wins almost all the items. and then you can know exactly how long it will take to get somthing. like in FL a guild m8 didnt get the heroic 2h axe till last week of firelands. glad gw is doing this

The small chance of winning something big is what makes it exciting. That's why people keep doing farming runs in Diablo. That's why people participate in lotteries.
What you're suggesting is like collecting Subway stamps.
