Hey guys who bought the collector's edition/physical copies in general, do you have to pay the entire $150 or comparable price to be able to get beta access, or can you just pre-order the game at a retailer and get beta access? I'm asking because, if all goes well, today I'll be picking up the collector's edition.

Pre-[b]purchasers[/b] are guaranteed access to all the beta weekend events. It's not enough just to pre-order the game, you need to pay the full amount if you want guaranteed access.

You don't have to pay the whole thing, but if you want guaranteed beta access and a 3-day head start you have to.

If you [B]pre-order[/B] I think you get access and a one-day head start but [B]pre-purchasers[/B] get acccess, 3 day head-start, Hero's Band, and one more thing that I don't remember [according to GS]. [editline]12th May 2012[/editline] Semi-ninj'd

I still don't get why I got a card saying I got the pre-purchase from gamestop and I got to play the last beta event for ~8 bucks.

Probably because Gamestop fucked up. Doesn't that mean you basically got the whole game for 8 bucks since you only need the pre-purchase code to play the full game on release and onwards?

In the US you have to go back and pick up the game and the retail code. In EU I believe that your code is your retail code as well.

The very last thing I did in the beta was use all my gold on gems to see what the minis were like, the keys for the chest and the instant dyes.

He meant how you needed a credit card to redeem the 2000 complimentary gems

(Don't you need 1800 to swap servers? The rate I was getting gems for was 18 silver = 1 gem) And like Rong said, you could not get the free gems without a credit card (Aka most of europe)

I don't know a single person who owns a credit card in their family, banks don't even have options for it as far as I'm aware. The 2k gem offer did not work with debit cards from what I tried.

I know a lot of people who have a credit card, my father even has one. They should add an iDeal option or paypal option.
