Just did a few matches of PvP, good fun. I totally wrecked some teams, I got wrecked in other matches. One mesmer can't survive a team of 3 warriors and 2 guardians.
I have no urge to play this tonight, weird.

I'm so conflicted... This game looks fun but the WoW-like combat turns me off drastically. On the other hand, Tera Online just came out, and the fact that you have to roll, dodge, and move frenetically makes it sound more interesting than GW2.
What do you I think I would enjoy more? I really dislike combat where you can't dodge projectiles like the one in WoW or GW1.

What WoW combat? You have to run around and dodge in GW2, nothing like WoW and Tera is incredibly dull.
Have you even watched any good videos of GW2? With people who know how to play.

guild wars 2 is nothing like the first one, you have to constantly dodge and run from aoe, its the main mechanic in this game. tera looks like a new aion, personally it doesnt interest me but you might like it.

I hate to be the one to say this, since it is always said, but if you were watching someone who just stood in one spot and casted, they were playing the game wrong.
Dodging and movement is a pretty big part of GW2, and the game is nothing like GW1.
I haven't played Tera, but from what I hear, you dodge and whatnot too. I'd probably be interested in it if it weren't for the art style, which I detest with every fiber of my being.
My friends and I want to PVP together? What are the procedures to playing, we're already in a party.
one thing i saw in tera and didnt like was the aiming system in tera, id rather not have a big crosshair in the middle of my screen.
i dont think theres a way to join as group at the moment, you might have to browse for a server and both join it, sadly it doesnt guarantee you are on the same team
Oh yeah, and remember that GW2 doesn't have a subscription, so that's always a factor.
Played the test for all i could, explored a lot and took some screenshots.
Will post them tomorow.

On that note however, I think guild chat is broken. Or maybe you got kicked out of the guild like me.

I really do like this game. Charr was the last race I thought I would be playing as (I start out kind of disliking the animal like races at first for any game, really), but it turns out I loved the story more than the Norn and far, FAR more than the human storyline.
I didn't even get any of my main story quests done today, I just walked around and stumbled across most of the events around the starting area.
Lo and behold, I did fight the infamous fire shaman. He is an absolute bitch to combat because the fire shield he often puts up reflects all projectiles, and everyone KEEPS FIRING. (I spent the better part of the time trying to not die and the rest of it trying to revive some of my teammates.)

I cannot fucking wait for this game to come out for real. The day this game is fully released is the day my WoW account breathes its last breath.

will the server we picked during Beta stay as our home world when the game releases or will I have a chance to change my home world without having to buy a transfer?
Im pretty sure all the characters are getting removed at release
i thought they were supposed to be wiped inbetween betas. either way kind of a dick move to keep them around for awhile (since people will get really far in PvE and then lose all the progress)

They are wiping everything for release as every MMO does. So no, you'll be able to do everything differently on release.
