New name stuff. May be known already.
Guild Wars players will be considered active—thus having their Guild Wars names reserved and available to claim during Headstart Access and on launch day—if they have logged into the game at least once between January 1, 2012 and the day we build the name reservation list. We’ll warn the community before we build the list, but that’s irrelevant, because there’s no reason for anyone to wait. If you want to reserve character names from Guild Wars into Guild Wars 2, log in to the original game now so we know you’re active! We’ll see you in-game,

Yeah that's what I suspected. I wrote below that image that was probably the case. I remember there being a setting in-game to increase the quality of armors.

I'm probably not going to use any names that are two words long. Most of mine are single words. Going to have to create all my characters on launch day so I'm sure i'll have them.
no screenshots of all armor types? also if those prices on the wiki are right then bullet is wrong (looks like 100 for torso alone). Even if it was 100 tokens for a full set that is still 20 runs of one dungeon. shitloads more runs if it is 100 tokens per item
also you need 5 people to run a dungeon don't you? i dont have 4 friends playing gw2 :/
100 runs seems excessive...

I'm not really sure from what I understand;
It's 100 tokens for one piece of armor, not the full set. You get 5 Tokens for finishing one dungeon. Although i'm sure there are more methods to obtain tokens (I hope).
[t]http://i.imgur.com/byjFw.jpg[/t]
100 Tokens per armor x 5 armor pieces = 500 total
5 Tokens per Dungeon run
500 / 5 = 100 runs
Again these statistics are from the first dungeon only and I'm sure there will the other methods to get Tokens.
It may be similar to WvW Honor Tokens. You get them for completing objectives and drops from dead players and stuff. May be able to grab some dungeon tokens from dead bosses, rare from mobs, and completing some quests. That or Arena REALLY wants to see who is truly that dedicated to run a dungeon 500 times to look like the baddest of the bad boys.

And on the same time claim they have made an MMO without grinding.
Yeah that's pretty crazy that you will have to run the dungeon(s) ~100 times just for a full armor set. Not to mention that some of the weapons cost 200 tokens each!!! If Tokens don't drop from mobs or aren't rewards for certain in-dungeon quests then that would just be stupid.
The first dungeon seemed to be ~30 minutes long, so to get 500 tokens would take roughly 3000 minutes or 50 hours... oh my god! I bet that you can cut the time of that dungeon in half once you learn all the tactics, so in that case (15 minutes per run) 1500 minutes or 25 hours.
[editline]17th May 2012[/editline]
I will no doubt put <2k hours into this game.
And on the same time claim they have made an MMO without grinding.
Yes because a totally optional part of the game that is not required to be acquired is indicative of their design philosophy.

I honestly don't mind that they made the prettier gear hard to get. It's something similar to the Voltaic Spear of Slaver's Exile. It looked neato and people ran the shit out of that place for it. People also run the shit out of dungeons for minis and rare parts. Why? To look pretty! This is no different, just takes longer. I know I'll be playing this for a LONG time, so 50 hours of running a dungeon for armor parts is just child's play.
I seriously doubt the number of tokens/price of dungeon gear is in its final stage. Quit talking about how it was in the beta, we'll see how it really is on release.
What else are we supposed to talk about...? :\
hopefully the prices are that high just to have them in game but not feasibly attainable during a beta. 100 fucking runs. perhaps tokens can be sold at the market (still bullshit though as their price could be extremely high)
Agree. They cant possibly think that 100 runs is a good number. Maybe tokens drop like normal loot too?
Don't get me wrong I don't mind working hard to get rare gear. I would rather it be harder to get this kind of gear. Makes it more unique instead of everyone having the same thing. Makes me wonder what the prestige armor is going to be like? The Dungeon sets can't be the only rare armor types.
[editline]17th May 2012[/editline]
I don't really like the idea of selling Tokens on the Trading Post. Even if they're expensive it will be abused by rich people.
[editline]17th May 2012[/editline]
Looking at this table it looks like most of the rewards are 20-33 Silver. Can't find out if they're soulbound or not. If it's like the WvW Tokens then they are.
Agree. They cant possibly think that 100 runs is a good number. Maybe tokens drop like normal loot too?
From what I recall, either the armor pieces drop from bosses in dungeons (Randomly from all 3 armor classes) Or tokens drop.
Though they aren't 100% drops obviously.

Probably, I'd say about 75 runs to get it all would be acceptable, counting all the other tokens outside of completion.
Anyone bought the GMG copy of GW2? Thinking of getting it since it's on sale, wondering if it would work with the beta events and the head start and everything
Nevermind, bought it and registered on the GW2 site, everything should work fine.
When was the last beta event? Aren't the supposed to do them every month?
someone guesstimated 25th May will be the next weekend beta. Looks like it could be.
Bought the game three hours ago, still haven't gotten the email to download the client. What gives?

Your best bet is DLing it from a link found somewhere in this thread.
I will try and dig it up for you.
Also, anyone know if there is more playtime shit like a BWE/Stress Test going on soon again? I haven't been keeping in touch lately. I knew there was one this past monday.
Consider this guys:
Stress Test for BWE1 was April 14th
BWE1 started April 27
Stress Test for BWE2 is May 14th
BWE2 starts May 25th?
Look up
So for people who've played the beta, is there some sort of armor preview like there is in WoW so you can see how a set of armor will look like on your character? That was one of things that I found pretty neat in that game.
No there was not...I really hope there will be though as you can send item links via chat.

Got it from their support section, thanks though.
So how do you guys sell stuff? I've gotten a bunch of items and sat in Spamadan for over and hour D1-3 spamming trade with multiple tactics using prices and offers...Not a single hit!
Trying to sell stuff like ded mini's, Elite Tomes, Golds, etc...
[editline]17th May 2012[/editline]
Might ask you guys for some PC's later when I get the chance. Going to bed now. See ya in the morning.

Most dedicated miniatures are worthless, and by golds do you mean unidentified? They are pretty easy to sell, but most skins are worthless after indentification, unless they have perfect mods, and even then it would have to be mods used in the current farming builds mostly.
