I'm on a server and in the world vs world group another server always controls everything. We occasionally get a few people (most we had was 7) to take a supply camp, but that usually doesn't last long. About 50 guys show up to stomp us. I really hope they do something to balance the server populations better.

Based on the art styles behind each of the professions. Yes, each of them can wear the same armors now, but Mesmers are the only ones consistently depicted wearing those masks. I assumed it was a set of armor, not a handful of random pieces of armor, and if the set has a mask like that, it was probably designed for Mesmers. Armors that have skulls, spikes and bones are obviously intended to be worn by Necromancers, and armors that have masks like that are intended to be worn by Mesmers. Doesn't really matter, though, because it's just armor classes now. I just wanted to point it out.

i'm a bit confused here. On my main character, I got a perfect salvage kit from a mystic chest, and whenever i use it on items it works like normal.. but I bought one for a different character and the first time I used it, it disappeared. Is it supposed to be just a single use or was that just a bug?

I thought they were single use, but I am not sure. The reason they'd be 1 use is because it's a 100% chance of getting your upgrades back, IIRC.

I am trying the engineer. Really sort of a "jack of all trades" profession. Can do everything, but not well. Can lay AoE traps, but not for high damage. Can throw grenades, but not for high damage. Can use a flamethrower. Moderate damage, however can be awkward to use, and has average area denial. The wrench kit seems very situational, and so do the turrets. The elixir gun is.... okay? Still very situational. Mortar elite is just like a shorter range cannon with less damage. Very useful since it requires no supply to set up and can harass attackers with chills, bleeds, concussion, etc. And to top it off, the majority of his gun skills, the weapons the engineer is DESIGNED to use, are somewhat useful, but still situational. Net shot is great for nabbing those retreating enemies, or pinning someone down for AoE hell, but blunderbuss is just indescribably awful in its damage output and positioning. You have to be right in your opponents face (which is nice if he is a melee) to charge up an average level attack. Just a load of niche weapons. Would be nice to have in WvW due to the sheer amount of things an engie can do, but when confronted up close in a fight, I find him very clunky to use. Or maybe that is just the point of the profession. Has tools for everything. It has great potential, but it needs tweaking before launch to be any sort of appealing.

engineer's rifle is basically a melee weapon in the guise of a ranged weapon i like it

Engineer has no progression in the sense that it's weapon and stats don't add damage to the backpack skills. This is getting tweaked after BWE2.

i hope characters / money carries over. I found out "completing" an area gives quite a bit of money. I had almost 2 gold when I stopped. I would've completed another area but one skill point was bugged
