Implants.
Oh god
I got one of those and I've never used it. 30 seconds seems to little time to effectively kill stuff. 1 minute would be more appropriate.
I can see them being very useful during larger events. I assume that doing a reasonable amount of damage to a creature and having it die constitutes a kill, so when everyone is pitching in to do damage, it would be very easy to get a kill every 30 seconds.
I just hope I can make a male sylvari actually look badass. If not there's always the female option...
If the males aren't badass the females wont be either, just sayin'.
My female Sylvari is going to be the most badass character on my account, just sayin'.
My female Sylvari is going to be the most badass character on my account, just sayin'.
My name is Commander Sylvari and this is my favourite tree in Tyria.
If the males aren't badass the females wont be either, just sayin'.
Norn disagree.
The beta completely ruined my plans. I dont know which character I want to be my main, anymore. I loved all the things I thought I was going to hate...
torn between necro and mesmer mesmers are so fabulous...
Funion, let's be honest dear, a mesmer is your thing. if they anet wanted to make a skill that made a rainbow, mesmers would sure as hell get it.
thx babe
I'm torn between choosing what not to play (until later when I have gathered enough gold to swap for rubies or w/e). I personally dislike micro-transactions, I'd rather pay once for the box and be done with it. I'm most likely making Engineer, Mesmer, Guardian and Warrior. The last one is toughest to pick. Usually (always, in a way) I play in a support role in any given rpg. With that I mean Tank/Healer/CC/buffer, so anything expect pure dps nuking. I know that gw2 isn't really supposed to have the "holy trinity", but I'm pretty sure you can play as more support oriented build with pretty much any profession. Only "real" caster (as in pure dps) I've played until max level in (mmo)rpg is Mesmer (even though it is not real "nuker", It is more debuffer, since mesmer in original gw has almost no direct damage skills) and Elementalist in original GW. I played elementalist mainly as water hexer or earth tank, some air spiking/blinding in pvp. In original gw I played/play ranger mostly as BunnyThumper or EDA spammer (before nerf). I have pretty much no interest in standard longbow spammy ranger gameplay, since I personally find spamming damage skills in long range quite dull. Assasin was/is my main in GW, mainly because it is the first character I created. Still, I played condition spam with burning arrow/barrage (back before sharpen daggers and anthem nerf), Caller (discordway), scythesin, assacaster and SF tank (before nerf) most of the time. I've never fancied stabby melee characters, 'sin was pretty silly choice for main character for me. I never played necromancer in pve, mainly due to character limit in gw. I played it a bit with a pvp character, minion spammy build. It was kind of neat, having 10 minions following you around. I played a bit as a minion master with my rit, it was pretty cool. Still, not my favorite thing in the world. My overall favourite class in gw1 is most likely Monk. Sadly, it doesn't make return for gw2 (yet). I played mostly as protection prayer, but also did some smiting and quite much 600 (especially during glorious early days before nerf) and 55 soloing. So, which one do you think would suite me best? Water/Earth-(support) Elementalist, Greatsword/beastmastery(or what ever it is called in gw2)/Axe&Warhorn ranger, Condition(Shortbow?)/support Thief or Condition/mm Necromancer I haven't played beta at all, and i don't intend to. I haven't watched any videos in months (expect some structured pvp ones). I intend to save it all to the "headstart" for the ones who have pre-ordered. I thus haven't tried any of the professions in game, and I'd appreciate insight on this matter. TLDR: Which profession for boring-mainly-support player, ele-ranger-thief- or necro.
All of the above. That's how I solved my problem. [editline]12th June 2012[/editline] You do have multiple character slots for a reason.
As I said, I have one spare slot. I intend to play each and every one of professions, but its impossible without extra slots. Last time I checked there are 5 slots, and I intend to play engineer, warrior, mesmer, guardian and something. I have no idea how long it would take to acquire enough in game gold to purchase gems for extra slot, I expect it to take quite a while.
Kill streak bonus is when you kill different kinds of creatures in a row from what I remember. The exp buff was just the +XX% boost you could buy from the store. [editline]12th June 2012[/editline] Woodenpotatoe's channel? Watched all of his stuff as well, was a pretty good watch.
Okay, so if you were to kill a skritt, then a moa, then a skritt, you would receive more exp than killing 2 skritt then killing a moa because of a "kill streak" exp?
I wonder why i was one of the only mesmers in the guild. there was 1 other but they got to like level 3 before they completely stopped playing.
I wonder why i was one of the only mesmers in the guild. there was 1 other but they got to like level 3 before they completely stopped playing.
Mesmers are sort of "broke" as in they only have 1 good build (which is super overpowered)

The killstreak bonus item you can buy in the gem store gives you +%100 exp for every kill, as long as you get a kill every 30 seconds. Perhaps what Miskav is referencing is also true, but that item that gives the bonus does what I said. Also, I hope there is a party item that makes a rainbow so Funion can go around making rainbows everywhere.
i've got to say, other threads look really empty without funion's rainbows

Not my style. [editline]12th June 2012[/editline] This is my style. Even though that was before changing my keybinds which I would like to add that is improved my performance dramatically.
Ive heard there will be a open beta soon, Is that true? Im interested to try.
So I'll be getting a laptop for university soon, and I want it to run GW2 like a dream. How high-end do you guys think I'm going to have to go, and what brand should I go with?

ASUS usually has pretty good laptops as far as I've seen and I think NewEgg may have a sale in August but I'm not sure. I have an ASUS K72 that can run it, but it doesn't have that smooth a framerate all the time.
i'm having withdrawal symptoms help
Enough said.
what is your point? there isn't enough content IN THE BETA to keep me interested. hence why i said i'm waiting until release. what was your point

Jesus I cannot wait for release. This BWE only made the wait harder, now that I know how nice the game actually plays. FUCK.
Jesus I cannot wait for release. This BWE only made the wait harder, now that I know how nice the game actually plays. FUCK.
Just take it a step at a time. Think about the next BWE and having a Stress Test a few weeks before that! It's closer than you think. [editline]12th June 2012[/editline]
i'm having withdrawal symptoms help
/hug
Sorry if this has been asked and answered a thousand times, but is there any idea when the next BWE is gonna be? I got to play it a bit last weekend when my brother came home and its AWESOME. I can't wait to give it another go.
Sometime next month, we hope, but we really have no idea. [editline]13th June 2012[/editline] Also, in what amounts were gems sold in the gem shop? Not counting the 2000 free, testing gems. Two other amounts were listed, but you couldn't click them.
