Guild Wars 2 V2: GOTY 2017 or How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love Arenanet - Games

Sorry for joining the party late: woke up, read twitter, -snip- off to anounncement, posted my reaction.

So if the release date is the 28th people who preordered start the 25th, right?

Sorry to be a stick in the mud, but is there any developments about accommodating people who travel a lot? I got excited for a second and then realized it would be a waste if only play this for half a year.

I look forward to whatever optimization they have in mind. The event yesterday wasn't too bad, the lag was very minimal. Or maybe it's just cause there aren't a whole lot of people interested in a four hour beta?

Alright, now that there is a release date, we do have to think about which server we go to. Does anybody have an up to date list of which communities are going to each server?

Moving to an apartment around the time GW2 comes out. I hope the transition is smooth and that internet is there on day one.

Oh yeah, I'll be moving into my college dorm in August. I was lucky, even as a Sophomore, I got into the apartment style housing. So I'll be living in an apartment with 2-6 other people, instead of a small dorm room with 1 other person. Usually only Juniors and Seniors get apartment style, but apparently someone dropped out and I got their spot by chance. College internet connection will either be wonderful, or heart crushingly awful because of so many people using it.

I kind of like the idea of Anvil Rock with /vg/. I also have another guild Deadly Betties (DB) who I have to figure out if I'm going to play with them or FP. From the sounds of it not many people will be playing on the FP guild so I don't know... UNLESS I can get FP on the same server as DB and /vg/!

Only one game mode so far, point capture. They still have tournament mode to put in and test, they'll probably organize them and offer prizes to get people in. Besides point capture, they should be putting in flag capture. Would be cool to see an original gamemode on top of that. Crafting. Pretty much done. It can get hard to craft since finding our crafting materials can be hard with the shambled economy. It'd be fixed on release. Balance. continual thing, they'll have to keep trying even through release. So we have.... 2 races left, some dungeoneering, and PvP to do. Looks like 1 more BWE till they've covered all their bases. It'll be a 4th if they want to have a spic and span session or follow up on any of the changes from BWE3.[/QUOTE] 2 months, 1 bwe till then. Maybe another if they throw one in August.

If there's another major community on it, it probably will be. That's why I gotta see the list.

Yeah I'm also thinking about that too. I wonder if they limited the server capacities for the beta's.

Hell for dicking around in PvE we can just guest to another server. Just can't play WvW together.

If theres another popular euorpean/english server then im sure most people will be happy to swap. When the next beta pops up then I think we'll look into it more.

Just can't play WvW together.[/QUOTE] There were only about five or so FP'ers who actually stuck together and "dicked" around during the last two beta events. You also got to remember the "Guesting" feature. I'm thinking I'll just join my guilds server and Guest whenever I want to play with you guys. I'm just curious about the negative effects with it. The problem with that is I haven't played with my other guild yet so I don't know if they're even fun...

I'll probably set my home server to whatever we decide here. I'll also tell my real-life friends to join it too so I can play WvW with all of you!

From what ive gathered you can pretty much play with anyone but youre always bound to your homeserver?

Good thing my college is close to home [i]and[/i] my sister commutes to the same college. Free ride home from college, midnight release and get my CE, and then free ride back to college. I like that fact that I will be playing GW2 on a laptop while I wait in line at the midnight release of GW2. It seems like the only restriction is that you cannot World vs World in any server other than your home server.

I think we should create a poll of what people on FP are planning on doing or would like to do. Vote what servers we will be playing on, if we plan on sticking with FP or not. That way we can help each other out in making their final decisions. Even though we have 61 (58 for pre-orderers) days left.

I'm staying with Ring of Fire. Has been a nice server so far. Had to change last test to play with someone though, and since it's full i probably won't be able to rejoin it next BWE.

Yeah, I'm aight with Ring of Fire.

I'm mostly focused around PvE massive scale events and organised massive scale WvW involving multiple guilds and a fixed strategy between those guilds. I'll stick on Anvil Rock then I guess, but I'd really like to play with you guys. (Developers play there as well)
