I just don't trust them, they seem a lot less professional about this stuff than other places. I'm sure buying stuff in store is fine, I just don't trust them all that much with other things. Other than that, I hear from people I know that work in gamestops, that they aren't a great place to work. Something about getting fired if you don't make enough sales or something like that, I don't remember exactly.
What has been announced/majorly changed since the announcement of the release date? It's sort of hard to juggle between following news on 2 different games
Any person with a head on their shoulders can tell you how slimy Gamestop is just based upon how much they offer you for your used games.
Whats wrong with Gamestop? That's where I go to buy games and I've never had a problem. Sometimes I even get free shit.
Trying to sell open and likely used copies of games as "shelf copies" for full price made me stop going. Some of their business practices are pretty shifty.

When referring me to laptops, please keep in mind that I'm British and don't want to pay an exorbitant amount of money for S&H.
Hey, I thought i'd ask this thread because making a whole thread about it on an guild wars forum would be kind of silly in my opinion. But anyway, I've only ever been interested in playing a support profession. I've played literally nothing but healers or healer-type characters in every MMO i've ever played, and since playing Guild Wars 2 i love that I can be supportive but still kill people. I've narrowed down my classes to my three favorites, the Elementalist, Guardian, and Engineer. I played all three professions in the latest beta weekend and I felt like I got a pretty good grasp at how to play them. I felt like the Elementalist had the most potential to be offensive, and their trait lines make complete sense and are the most focused. I really loved switching attunements all the time in combat for different combo fields, like using water combos for area healing and regen all around. The Engineer was very enjoyable too, I liked the amount of control I had, and their support options were more 'active', which i enjoyed, but I feel like their traits weren't as organized as the Elementalist and some of the combo fields could have been more sensible. (Eg: Super Elixir and all thrown elixirs are light fields? wut?) Naturally though I tried the Guardian first, and I felt like it was a great fit combat wise, but I really didn't like relying on Symbols for weapon-based support and the trait lines for Guardians is a right mess in my opinion. My question though, is what are your opinions on these three classes' support options? Which class do you think will be the most proficient at a metagame support role? If/when you played a beta weekend, which support role class did you find to be the most interesting to fight against/as?
Played an Elementalist all the way through, Staff with water attunement is the most healing focussed skill set that I know of. Very helpful for your fellow players. Given the fact that putting trait points into water gives you like, +100 hp per point, it's ridiculous actually, especially since 5 points give you a regen aura.

However, the trait is now removed. While it was kind of cool, it was basically just a weaker Battle Presence for Guardians and only healed for around 320hp every 3 or so seconds. Not all that impressive or top trait-tier worthy to me. What turned me off of the Elementalist was their inherent squishiness. Compared to the Guardian, who has inherently high toughness, or the Engineer who is pretty middle-of-the-road, the Elementalist is kind of on the low end of the spectrum of inherent survivability.
Well that's the idea for a reason. It would be completely OP if you had to deal a lot of damage to kill a huge DPS ele, that's why they're glass cannons. Warriors and Guardians stay in the front line, Thieves take opportunities, Rangers and Engineers are in the middle, doing situational damage while Necros and Elementalists do a large bulk of damage from behind the front line, where they can't be hit. Even so, it's really easy to kite melee enemies in PVE, it's just ranged attacks that can be problematic.

For example, Rangers have the weapon with the longest range (traited longbow), but their 2h sword skills pack a crazy punch too. Following that same reasoning, Elementalists have daggers which are very much melee-centric and deviate from the long-range wizard stereotype. I can honestly say I don't think any class is restricted to one range, it's mostly a matter of the build you want to run. However, the questions in my first post are still open.
So, how long till bwe3? Shouldn't be long, right? [editline]6th July 2012[/editline] also, there is a large possibility that i might have a raffle for a key for guild wars 2
Looks like four spamratings...
Really? You, kenji, funion and who else?
Winner [editline]6th July 2012[/editline] [t]http://puu.sh/GmIk[/t] That's what systemrequirementslab says about my laptop and GW2. I don't believe it :v:
Really? You, kenji, funion and who else?
all the cool people were doing it :smith:
^ True facts
On release day and probably for the first couple days after that i'll be doing nothing but SPvP, does anyone want to join me? In the first beta weekend i got to glory rank 2 almost rank 3 i believe, and i was also in the rank 1 guild in Age of Conan for PvP, and also have 2 teams above 2200 rating in WoW (which isn't that hard anyways) and Warhammer Online experience etc. etc. etc. my point is i'll be a hefty PvPer if anyone wants to join me in my quest for being in the top 0.5%
and also have 2 teams above 2200 rating in WoW (which isn't that hard anyways)
So you are an average PVPer.
I'm going to be PVE'ing it up until I get bored of level 80! [editline]6th July 2012[/editline] (unlikely to happen) Oh and I'll be WvW'ing it too if that's considered PVP :P
Never enjoyed PvP in any MMO (well Tabula Rasa was okay) but I'm willing to give it a shot in GW2.
Tabula Rasa
Fun game.
Fun game.
Shame it went down, they should have released the server program etc.
I bought the Guild Wars Trilogy on steam last year, but i didn't really get into it. I'm thinking about trying again because i'm going to buy Guild Wars 2, but i don't know where to start, like which expansion and stuff like that...
I would recommend Proph, EotN, NF then FA
Shame it went down, they should have released the server program etc.
A small group started to bring the game back last fall but were shut down by an NCSoft cease and desist. I really wish NCSoft wasn't publishing GW2. I'll probably still get the game eventually but they have to be one of my least favorite companies.
