A small group started to bring the game back last fall but were shut down by an NCSoft cease and desist. I really wish NCSoft wasn't publishing GW2. I'll probably still get the game eventually but they have to be one of my least favorite companies.
While NCSoft is quite fishy company, ArenaNet is completely different. They are quite well in touch with the community, and have great customer service. You have to remember that NCSoft is only publisher, nothing more. They don't have that much say over things A-net decides to do. A-net has pretty much free hands when it comes down to Guild Wars (2).

NCSoft West haven't done anything stupid though.
Warriors and Guardians stay in the front line, Thieves take opportunities, Rangers and Engineers are in the middle, doing situational damage while Necros and Elementalists do a large bulk of damage from behind the front line, where they can't be hit.
have you even played this game
P.S. I have chosen a few officers for the guild. They are Bullet100, and eternalflamez. We can figure out if we need more after release. But since it's a (mostly) private guild, I don't think there will be too much for the officers to do. Winner was also chosen, but seeing as he is currently banned from FP, I don't know how well that is going to work out. More news eventually I suppose.
Ah, he'll be back ...and then he'll get banned again.
I really don't think we will need too many officers. Besides, anyone can invite new members, if I'm not mistaken.
I wonder what officers get that normal members don't. I have a feeling that it's the ability to purchase guild upgrades with influence, and also edit the "message of the day".
I just want this to come out so i don't have to deal with WoW's incredibly unbalanced PvP which is also 99% based off of gear and time invested and not actual skill

because WoW sucks GW2 is great :downs:
Wait, which server are people planning to play on?
moladune for NA, ring of fire for EU
Easily gonna drop 100€ in the shop when Headstart starts.
Wait, which server are people planning to play on?
NA: Moladune EU: Ring Of Fire [editline]8th July 2012[/editline]
I wonder what officers get that normal members don't. I have a feeling that it's the ability to purchase guild upgrades with influence, and also edit the "message of the day".
It'll be purchasing guild upgrades, editing message of the day, kicking members, and withdrawing stuff from guild bank. If I understand correctly, there might be two different kinds of guild banks. The stash, and the 'treasure trove'. If there are two, then I will make one that anyone can deposit and withdraw from, and one that members can only deposit. So the stash will be like if you just want to give away stuff, and anybody can take it if they need it, and the other will be if you want to donate to the guild, so we can afford to do giveaways and stuff.
That's kind of dumb, if every member can't purchase upgrades. The guild stash system feels a bit exploitable, since bank space is limited in the game. You could make guild for yourself, and stash things in guild-bank, while representing different guild and what not. Depending on the cost of guilds, you could have near infinite bank space, since you can be member of quite many guilds at once, afaik. I personally think that its good thing, at least I wont have to stash all my minis on alts or anything such. Ill just stash them in guild bank.

The upgrades affect everyone in the guild, and it's paid for by the influence created by guild members. If every member is able to use the influence to purchase upgrades, then we would never have enough influence for more expensive things. As for that, I don't think it will be very exploitable, really. You'd have to create your own guild and only represent that guild for a long while, because you need to earn influence to pay for upgrades. A 50 slot guild bank is 2500 influence. A fully upgraded guild stash+treasure trove would be well over 20k influence. That is a VERY high amount of influence for one person to generate. In comparison, during one of the beta weekends, our entire guild generated less than 3k influence. [editline]8th July 2012[/editline] Actually, I suppose it can be bought. Those guild promoter things. 10 influence for 1 silver. So that'd be 2.5 gold for 50 slots, and I suppose you would make more guilds to get that first upgrade for 50 slots. That'd be the cheapest way, but kinda a bother. Otherwise it would be 20+ gold for about 250 slots.

I expected that upgrades were bought w/ gold, not "influence", like in original GW. I thought that It'd be dumb in a sense that average member in GW1 could buy something like dye trader or merchant to guild hall, thus benefiting the whole guild and so on. If it uses that "influence" system, then it does not matter, since its not bought via in game currency. Restricting the usage to ranked members makes sense, since the influence currency is shared, similar to alliance faction of Factions.
I personally think that its good thing, at least I wont have to stash all my minis on alts or anything such. Ill just stash them in guild bank.
There's actually specific banks slots for minis just like for materials.

ily dai.
can't fucking wait to dye my armor gold. gooooold nigggaaaa
so where's the utility to check if your computer can run gw2? Girlfriend has a rather new laptop and wants it, but it isn't a gaming laptop so I'd rather wait and see
so where's the utility to check if your computer can run gw2? Girlfriend has a rather new laptop and wants it, but it isn't a gaming laptop so I'd rather wait and see
There's always systemrequirementslab, but it's not always accurate, and right now it only has minimum spec requirements right now. My friend's laptop had intel integrated graphics and was able to play
There's also another website called Game Debate that uses a ranking system. If you know the make of your CPU and Graphics Card, just put them in the drop boxes for the appropriate game.
can't fucking wait to dye my armor green and purple. greenandpurplegreenandpurplegreenandpurplegreenandpurple.
Capital idea.
My computer resulted nearly at the top of the "slow-fast" scale on that System Requirements app, yet my FPS was sub-par when it came time to play the game on BWEs/stress tests. Can't say whether or not that's due to unresolved optimization issues or if my expectations are a bit high, but as it is I say you shouldn't put much trust into that System Requirements lab thing just yet.
Optimisation, trust. It'll get better.
Optimisation, trust.
You're right, though I think it's an American/British thing. I generally due tend to stick to British-English spelling structure, but every time I read "optimisation" I just wanna stress the "s" sound since, to me, it sticks out like a sore thumb. Z seems far more proper, in my opinion, though I know a lot of people would disagree with me.
It'll get better.
Let's hope so!
Optimisation, trust. It'll get better.
Same as color vs colour. Just different spellings, deal with it.
Lol, I actually meant to trust in their optimisation, didn't realise I'd accidentally start a grammar fight.
sensational optimisation.
