4 days. I'm going to be gone for one of those days.
Countdown to release...
Pretty much same for me. I only ever did SPvP in the last beta weekends, and got to like level 7 to get some new skills to try out in WvW. Took me all of an hour to get to level 7 so it's not a big deal for me
what class did you enjoy most in Spvp? im really liking mesmer and thief.
what class did you enjoy most in Spvp? im really liking mesmer and thief.
Well in every other MMO i've played i've been whatever the big hitting melee burst class is, ex; a marauder or warrior type class. So i only really played the warrior in the other beta weekends, i'm thinking this weekend i'll definitely have to try some casters though to mix it up a bit. The warrior in the first BWE was amazingly fun but in the last one they seemed to have gotten the nerf hammer and were kind of frustrating to PvP with against something like a guardian

I remember seeing that a while ago - makes me want to get good at ping pong.
A good smash is all you need in casual play to win :v: I'm left handed, I play ping pong with my left hand, I use a sword in my left hand, and I draw my bow string with my left hand, so my smash is fucking terrifying :v:

Yeah i was gonna say thats not how you play ping pong
giez let's talk about what our plans are for this beta weekend. Who wants to level up with me to like maybe level 10 on friday so we can do some WvW!? and i'll need a SPvP buddy or two for random matches
I'm gonna chillax with 4 of my IRL friends that bought it/got a key, while hanging out with you guys.
I'm gonna chillax with 4 of my IRL friends that bought it/got a key, while hanging out with you guys.
I look forward to meeting friends of yours!
I was thinking I'd try to get some hall of monuments stuff in GW1 before this came out, but then I remembered that I don't have eye of the north and that I was terrible at Guild Wars back when I played it.
I look forward to meeting friends of yours!
Jokes on you! He has no friends. [editline]16th July 2012[/editline] Don't get why everyone is so upset about the character wipe. We all knew it was going to happen sooner or later. I was expecting one after the first BWE.
Why is the end of the summer/beginning of fall full of games that want to take up hundreds of hours of my life. GW2/BORDERLANDS2/Planetside2/Dark Souls
Why is the end of the summer/beginning of fall full of games that want to take up hundreds of hours of my life. GW2/BORDERLANDS2/Planetside2/Dark Souls
Well, if Borderlands 2 is anything like the first one it will be terrible and I can ruin Dark Souls for you with one phrase: Games for Windows Live. That being said you still won't have any time left for school, work, friends, or whatever else you may do with your life.

The worst part about it was the EXTREMELY anti-climactic ending.
Woah, Borderlands was awesome. The worst part about it was the EXTREMELY anti-climactic ending.
Me and my friends got to it then our connection dropped. So we had to do it again.
GW2 thread isn't on first page, how could you let this happen guys.
First page. [editline]17th July 2012[/editline] Oh damn 802 posts in this thread! o_o
I played 200 hours of the first game :v: And GFWL isn't my favorite, but it hasn't screwed me over yet.
Pfffft amateur, 600+ hours here. And I also have had no rage inducing problems with GFWL. My only issue is that I have to sign in every time I start a game, which takes a few secs.
i just checked out my played time, 630 hours on my warrior 1400 hours on my account, i play mmo's too much i have 6500 hours played on wow
boatloads of asuran/sylvari gameplay http://www.youtube.com/user/E0lan
I'm not gonna spoil myself.
I'm not gonna spoil myself.
I'm super excited about being very hyped for this and only seeing one or two gameplay videos from last year!
So, question for anyone who's participated in the beta events: how's the combat? I'm quickly finding I have no stomach for standard, WoW-ish MMO combat anymore. I played through GW1 years ago and enjoyed it thoroughly, but going back now it's sort of dull. Does the combat in GW2 just feel like glorified WoW, or is it actually lively enough to stay interesting?

So you don't have to target anything to be able to do your attacks. Being able to dodge makes it even more interesting.

The best part is there really isnt a cookie cutter build for each class so you can feel free to use all the weapons, some are better at aoe and cc some are better at single burst depends what your team needs. And the fact there are a small ammount of stun skills that lasts only one second means you dont stand around stuck in place as a melee character much and the ability to just dodge someone's knockdown if you time it right is amazing. Its slightly slower pace than wow but you have to think a lot more about the moves you make because of the small amount of utility skills. The lack of healers and tanks is really fun too so if you time your abilities well you can 2v1 without someone jumping back up to full hp. There are a few bugs that need fixing and abilities that could use a nerf but im having a lot of fun. I think the game needs a different game-type in pvp though , even if its not balanced just so you can mix it up. Also the fact that there is no pvp gear means if someone beats you , its because they outplayed you not because they have a heroic weapon and pve trinket. Also instant 80's for structured pvp means you dont have to spend a long time gearing alts. God i would love it if they brought back alliance battles that was my Favourite thing in gw1.

Every profession can do multiple things, no profession is limited to only one role, and the only thing that differs between them is playstyle. There is no holy trinity, you aren't forced to only do damage if you are a thief, for example. There is a HUGE amount of moving around, and when you are depleted of HP, you enter a downed state and have the opportunity to fight for your life.
