can someone explain how people who got their keys through the curse.com givaway are supposed to actually get into the beta? My girlfriend got a key through that, but no instructions on how to get an account or download the client or anything. She's kinda lost and I'm confused since my pre-order required me to log in and download from my already-activated account on guildwars2.com, sooo

Go bug support about it. Take a photo of the code (or screenie).

Curse has responded to forum posts with a mix of "we are looking into it" to "we don't have any more keys to give" to "contact Arenanet". Chances are that Curse advertised more keys than they actually have and the system just recycled the latter ones.

yup a lot of people got duplicated keys, myself included, they said exactly what Raidyr said and when i tried to contract Arenanet they wouldn't give me a new key luckily my brother got one anyway from a friend

I don't know whether these servers have higher population caps or what, but it was pretty unfortunate. I'd rather choose a lower population server than try a higher population server, get in, and then none of my friends can join.

I was so confused when I started the first beta weekend with my friend, only to not see eachother in the same area. I wonder how much they've expanded the pop. caps..

I think they reused 5,000 keys.

We should go to Gate of Madness, it has an awesome name.
