Any items from chests automatically appear in your inventory You can see what items you aquire this way by looking in the chat options (cog on chat window) and ticking one of the boxes.
Or at options you could set something to show items as they entered your inventory. This displays the item icon and name just above your map. This was a bit buggy in the last BWE though. When you unequipped something, it appeared as an item entering the inventory. Technically you didn't get anything, since you already had it, so it just confused me at start, and annoyed me later.
After this beta weekend, how do you guys think warrior and thief are? It's hard to decide between the two but thief was kind of screwed up in the last beta.

As a warrior I can take a few hits, as a thief not so much. Also goomba stomp trait spec

It's nothing like the warrior in GW1. even though you can tank, you feel as if you are doing as much damage as your ranged team mates! One of my favorite weapons is the greatsword on warrior. One of the skills you just swing the sword like a mad man. Thief is alright. It's a class that you really have to understand to play properly. Something that you kind of have to enjoy the specific play styles in order to have fun. Personally I like just jumping into the fight and ramping up as much damage as possible. Instead of sneaking around and picking off enemies. If that's your thing then you would love Thief. Of course that's not the only way you can play thief!

I'm going to roll a thief main for sure. :)
Is this just me or does anyone here also almost exclusively play one race? I found myself going female Norn 80% of the time, and the other times I didn't were to mostly check out the starting areas. I know why I do this, it's because female Norn's cater exactly to my tastes and fetishes in women. Whenever I played one my experience with the game was noticeably more enjoyable.
Are there any really good videos summing up the new things added in the beta? I'm fairly sure I'm going to go Charr theif at launch for my main, but I'd like to see what I missed

Although during release I will make one of each race, including two sylvari. They completely changed the Trait lines and the Minimap. They altered Party and Overflow issues. They added Vista's and many new puzzles across Tyria. Probably the most important thing they did was optimize the game! And so much more. I don't know of any video's but I have this: General Gameplay Changes KNOWN ISSUES: BETA WEEKEND EVENT 3

Race side by side of tallest and shortest. [t]http://i.imgur.com/kIo9z.jpg[/t]
Any items from chests automatically appear in your inventory You can see what items you aquire this way by looking in the chat options (cog on chat window) and ticking one of the boxes.
They could do with a little dialogue or something saying what was in the chest, it's a little disappointing if you don't realize it's just putting stuff straight in.

I'm going to be following a friend to Piken Square on release, and he's going to be doing a lot of RP I think so I may as well follow suit. http://www.guildwars2roleplayers.com/forum/m/2737230/viewthread/3725763-volatician-kree Good, bad, terrible? I decided to go for your cliche 'likes explosions' scientist, but put a little spin on it.
If you have never done RP before then stay clear, most RP communities either degrade into being erotic or are very strict and one slip up leads to becoming an outcast. There are exceptions but even still the experience is a bit odd and doesn't fit with a lot of people.
Does anyone know if the client used for beta will be the same one for release? Saves me time in deleting it and having to redownload it it's the same.

I'll scour youtube in a bit looking for some more coverage videos, i was relying on TB but it looks like he's only going to talk about the hunger event. Which looked pretty awesome.
So I have a mate who I recently started talking to again specifically about what he thought of GW2, he was a hardcore WoW raider who decided he'd go gw2 and dedicate his time to pvp and basically wanted to be ash from pokemon and be the very best. He played for the first time this weekend and I spoke to him just now asking how pvp went, he pretty much said "I actually didn't get to do any, I was completely lost in my own adventure". He just explored and did dynamic events and absolutely loved it. I wonder how many other people will be surprised by GW2 as my mate
bluh. I can't speak for that kind of RP, because it's much harder to create a plot from characters than it is to add characters to a plot. That's why so many "HERP HURS MY CAHRACTER LUL LETS ARR PEEE" rps end in sex. Because there's nowhere for the plot to go but relationships. I hate that.

And it definitely shows that ANet worked hard to make the actual questing and exploration portion a lot of fun. When I played games like WoW I hated exploring, because it meant fighting through mob after mob, and it just bored me. But with dynamic events and combat that feels and plays great, I have a ton of fun roaming. [editline]25th July 2012[/editline] Another thing I like so far is the sense of community. Granted, a single beta weekend isn't going to be representative of the whole experience, but I never saw any fighting over mobs in a quest area. People were helping each other out instead. And the ability to revive people makes it great too. Starting out, and getting used to the mechanics, I died a few times, but every time I was downed and someone was nearby, they'd run over and revive me, and I'd do the same for people I would see downed. It's a really cool system that makes it easy for people to be helpful.

Isolated slices of heaven, like that hidden strawberry garden. Jesus, if there was like, a way to set a private home-point, something you can just teleport back to and bring your party or something, that would be the kind of place I'd set it. I'd take an instanced location like that over a building for a guild hall, that's for sure
Everyone involved in taking out a mob gets credit, grouped or not. Probably the feature I like most
Cool thanks. I'll scour youtube in a bit looking for some more coverage videos, i was relying on TB but it looks like he's only going to talk about the hunger event. Which looked pretty awesome.
It wasn't that fun. Running around this huge map trying to find rations of food that a hundred of other people were trying to do, then you eventually starve after a few minutes and have to start all over again. The combat was really fun until you ran out of ammo and you're just chasing someone around in circles trying to beat them with the but of your gun. OH and then everytime you got hurt from starvation it would slow you down and just make the process of searching for life and rations that much more tedious and annoying. I believe that if they worked on this, made a special area/zone for it. Altered/fixed some of the annoying features then it would be a great gamemode! Other than that I disliked it.
It wasn't.
it has potential as a gamemode, and I know the devs put work and thought into it. We were expecting something grand, and with the beta population (half of us being thrown off into the overflow server), it was waaay too big of a playing zone for the number of players on that game. I mean, come on, it was the entire asuran starting area from levels 1-10ish
I run an in-character tumblr, and rp in other places pretty often. I'll be fine.
If you can survive that you can survive anything.

New blog post: http://www.arena.net/blog/john-stummes-guide-to-the-hall-of-monuments I want to get my points up but I can't really spend much time in-game without getting bored. Spoiled by GW2 I guess :(
Same problem with me. I'm perpetually stuck at 10 points because I just can't be bothered, what with how empty the game is.
