Does anyone use double tap dodge other than me? [editline]26th July 2012[/editline] hah i was messing around with names and got dragon master mick
I couldn't come up with normal names that I liked, so I just used "Generic Numero Uno" and "Girl Next Door" for my sexy Norn(s). Oh and "House Cat" for a Charr, really surprised I managed to get that.

[editline]26th July 2012[/editline] hah i was messing around with names and got dragon master mick
I had it on for a while, it misregistered occasionally for me and I'd dodge for no reason. Then again, no big deal, since I was playing warrior and could basically just headbutt people's weapons without a care in the world 80% of the time. But I have it bound to shift and doubletap off, so that's fine. It feels weird having dodge roll AND jump, Bastion really beat space to roll into me. Am I the only one that names characters seriously despite not RPing?
Am I the only one that names characters seriously despite not RPing?
No. I have problems playing a character if their name doesn't fit their race.
[t]http://i.imgur.com/guZUV.png[/t] clicking is a sin
Rebinding and relearning is a nuisance. [editline]26th July 2012[/editline]
No. I have problems playing a character if their name doesn't fit their race.
Yeah, that gets me too. In GW1 I had a 'godly' theme but it wont fit well in races besides human. only keeping one. The God Who Rocks.
it takes all of a day to get used to a new keybind setup if you do a full revamp, even less on a game this fresh best to set yourself up with convenient and smart keybindings early so you can get used to them by the point where the harder content starts to come into play
At the people saying they quickly got bored of the 'heart events' on the map, was it due to how often they cropped if? Because, if I remember rightly, ANet put the frequency of them happening a fair bit higher in the BWE in order for them to be tested more thoroughly. Just a thought. :v:
Well to me it just feels like I don't want or need to talk to the quest giver because it is already up on my screen. There is no progression/chains for heart quests, they are just there to give you some objecive in the area.

You don't need to read what the person says, you can just jump in and help out if you want, or just pass it by.
these are the keys i ran through bwe3 and probably what i'll run in full game. [t]http://i.imgur.com/DgF7V.png[/t]
What do you guys think about putting movement keys on ESDF instead of WASD? It gives you a whole extra column of keys you can bind on the left of your movement keys, without having it feel too different to WASD (At least it's like that on most keyboards I've used).
I've got my heal and utility skills bound to my mouse.

I used to do it back when I played Darkfall Online, but that game had so many keybindings necessary to become pvp viable that it was absolutely ridiculous.

Since everyone is talking about keybinds...I've been going through a lot of configurations trying to find the best option(s). During BWE2 I used this build and found several issues such as whenever I used Steam Overlay (Shift + Tab) I would heal. I know I can change Steam Overlay keybind (which I will probably do), but I think I have another use for my shift key. Then I also found out that everytime I used Alt for my Steam Voice Chat it would dodge... [t]http://i.imgur.com/hJAGJ.jpg[/t] During BWE3 I used this build which someone recommended me to change my Strafe Keys from Q & E to A & D. That way I can move my Healing and Elite skill to Q & E. The only problem with that is I was so used to using Q & E to Strafe that I always accidentally healed when I didn't need to. Then I realized that I never used E because I didn't have an Elite. Even when I do I will probably rarely ever use it considering the large CD. I'm thinking that I should use E for something more important. [t]http://i.imgur.com/hdhlC.jpg[/t] Using advice from you guys and a lot of mistakes on my part I think I'm going to use this: [t]http://i.imgur.com/KfRkP.jpg[/t] I will change my Steam Overlay to something like Shift + \ or something so I can use Left Shift for Dodge instead of it being on Alt. That way I can still use Alt for Voice Chat on whichever program we're going to use (mumble?). Then I noticed that you guys moved Swap Weapons to Q and thought that was brilliant. That will almost force me to use weapon variety more often that I do. Then healing on E which is a given. Does anyone know if there are going to be keybinds that allow you to go directly to you Skills, Traits, or PvP? The only way I saw doing it was by Pressing H and using the tabs.
Don't know if you guys noticed, but they did add key modifiers to the last BWE. You were able to bind stuff to Shift+1 Shift+2 and so on. That's where i put all my utilities :v
Using key modifiers is going to be like using G-keys, it's going to be something new and hard to get used to... I think if i'm going to try them then I would do it after release so that I can get settled in as I plan on steamrolling through the first few weeks. Oh and if I use key modifiers then what would I do with ZXCV? D:

Is it worth being human just for this skill? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KrTew551llI&feature=player_embedded [editline]27th July 2012[/editline] Also while in a transformed state does your class affect the state at all? Like if I'm a thief instead of a warrior would I still have less health?
I used that skill and I didn't find that much of a benefit from it, but that was from BWE2. Although Humans get other Racial skills as well, such as the Hounds of Bathazaar! Check out this list for more [editline]26th July 2012[/editline] Wow after watching that video I am really confused. The first part is what my avatar looked like, but the second part looks completely different and it lasted MUCH longer. It must be a bug because you can notice there is no CD on his elite (even though he clicked it).

You can tell from the chatbox. From what I can tell it's a support form that's supposed to be used quickly then you get the hell out of there. It's huge size would make you a bullet sponge. It looks really cool though, I think I'll just count on some other form being available on release for Asuras.
Speaking of skills, I got so much use out of this during the last BWE. There was times when I had the grenade kit equipped solely for it.
I personally used + in conjunction with the Fiery Wrath trait for an extra 10% damage. Condition removal and fire damage everywhere. And if there was no good group of enemies available I would just initiate with . Same if the enemies tried to run away. The combo worked so well I might just roll Guardian on actual release seeing as so far I'm largely undecided on what class to pick.
I was dual pistols engineer for the most part, using static shot to group enemies up then using grenade barrage to hammer down the crowd before finishing up everything. The elixr that gives quickness (can't remember which it was) makes it really easy to do a bunch of burst damage, and with the grenade kit out you can wipe groups of enemies very quickly.
Argh can't wait to play my guardian, see the story, norn some shit up. :c
I didn't try sPvP in the beta so I don't know the answer to this question. Is it possible to play sPvP on the european server list when your home server is in the US?
