There is so much stuff they have yet to show us. I want to see how the Auction House/Marketplace works. I want to see A LOT of Sylvari content, their cities, combat, home, etc... I would also like to see the Norn Spirit forms.
I've been watching quite a few videos on youtube covering this game at various expos and such, and there is something that they have mentioned a few times that I am curious about.
They say that after you've completed the tutorial once you can jump into competitive PvP and it will unlock all skills, weapons, and armors. I am wondering (or hoping at least) if this bars that particular character from going back and doing PvE, and playing it like a normal character. It would be pretty cheap if you could just go into competitive pvp and then go back to playing that character normally and keep all the skills and such unlocked without having to do it yourself. I know it only takes 20 minutes or so of using a weapon for the first time to unlock it's abilities, but it still wouldn't seem fair to the people who don't want to do that.
Yeah I'm 100% positive that won't work. It's kind of like the 'level drop' feature that lowers your characters level when you go into lower level zones so that your not OP. I think the same thing applies to PVP vs PVE.
The tranformations were briefly in the gamescom trailer.

Neat, so it's kinda like wereforms.
Are there any bonuses each form has?

There are four forms that Norn's can transform into using the Spirit of the Wild:
The Bear
Bear represents fortitude and self-reliance and is said to be the mightiest of all the animal spirits in the norn culture.
During the norn exodus to the south, Bear was one of the four spirits to aid the norn in their time of need. Because of Bear's help, she became a prominent deity of Hoelbrak.
The Snow Leopard
She represents independence, strategy, and laughter in the face of danger and is considered to be stealthy and solitary.
During the norn exodus to the south, Snow Leopard was one of the four spirits to aid the norn in their time of need. Because of Snow Leopard's help, she became a prominent deity of Hoelbrak.
The Wolf
Wolf represents the virtues of loyalty, ferocity, and strength in numbers and is often invoked for help in tracking the norn's prey.
During the norn exodus to the south, Wolf was one of the four spirits to aid the norn in their time of need. Because of Wolf's help, he became a prominent deity of Hoelbrak.
The Raven
Raven represents cunning, trickery, and knowledge and is the animal spirit of the norn that is associated with the Underworld and the spirits of the dead.
During the norn exodus to the south, Raven was one of the four spirits to aid the norn in their time of need. Because of Raven's help, he became a prominent deity of Hoelbrak.
Bear has her strength; Wolf teaches unity in numbers; Raven is wisdom; Snow Leopard speaks of cunning and stealth.
Out of opinion, you guys think its possible to power-grind through Prophecies and EotN before GW2 releases?

Going as a Warrior with the Raven spirit form.
Cuz I'm just cool like that.

100b, Whirlwind strike (or whatever it is called), To the Limit, Death's Charge. That's practically all that is needed. Add a MoP necro and good times will be had by all.

My favorite duo role.
Me as a necro and a good friend as a warrior. Fuck everything up forever.
Although, Spiteful Spirit was arguably my favorite necro elite.

The moment you leave the Mists (PvP area) and enter normal PvE territory again you'll be exactly the same as you were before.

35 new guys here. All to a guild :v:
Does every race have different base stats? I know they all have specific race abilities, but are the Charr and Norns naturally stronger and tougher than Asura, or are those kinds of stats based on profession (or maybe both)?

I wouldn't assume race affects anything, considering how balanced they're trying to make the game.
Each race will be different in their animations and their racial skills. From the beta footage, I haven't seen any hint of them yet though.

It's been a while and I still haven't gotten a beta key. How did you guys 'get it instantly'?

They got their signup confirmation instantly, not their keys.
Anyone have a big guild planned up? I'm looking for one to start out with. I'm a big time GW1 fan and getting CE.
I might be starting a guild, but it probably won't be anything big or serious. Just a guild for people to hang out and do dungeons/events with.
So has anybody gotten lucky yet?

Ooooh. In that case, I got it instantly too.

God dammit I wish it was an open beta.
Isn't it supposed to go open beta in March/April?
