I just prepurchased the digital version of GW2 today but I'm a bit confused as to how it works. I registered my key and downloaded the client, does this mean I'm ready for launch which is in 2 days if I'm correct? Also what does this "three day head start" mean?
Release is 2 days and a month.
Oh I must have misread the date then. Guess I'll wait a bit more. :v: Also, what kind of client did I download if the release is still that far away?
i honestly didnt realize how useful quickness is until i played a thief and set haste as one of my utility skills i'll need to see how well it works in conjunction with rifle skills, but if it at least halves the 'cast' time of blunderbuss, then consider me sold
With bomb kit or grenade kit, it's just amazing. Death. EVERYWHERE.
With bomb kit or grenade kit, it's just amazing. Death. EVERYWHERE.
i used grenade kit because the toolbelt skill did so much fucking damage but i never really found myself using the kit itself
Didn't get to try bombs but grenades really are great.
i'll have to look into bombs, they might be worthwhile for longer fights with rifle
bombs are worth it just for the Big Ol' Bomb toolbelt skill i didn't enjoy the kit's skills that much (the various fields are useful though, like the smoke one which is only available to the thief otherwise) but blowing dudes halfway across the map with the toolbelt is great

Big 'Ol Bomb works underwater too, but I prefer the land mines for surface use.

ArenaNet will send an email to notify everyone when it is time to update it.
Is it worth being human just for this skill? Like if I'm a thief instead of a warrior would I still have less health?
Why become an avatar of a god when you can get your own Power Suit!
I think dual pistols really is the way to go. Rifle is nice and all because of its tackle ability, but it does "meh" quality damage as its auto only pierces, and no conditions are applied. Blunderbuss requires you to get too close to your target for my liking. The overcharge shot made a lot of sense though. Newtons third law. :eng101: [editline]26th July 2012[/editline] No.
The pistols require you to get closer than the rifle. What I did was I used my Jump shot to get close, press blunderbuss since I'm up close, shoot them back with overcharge, then net them and finish them off when they began to move again. Had complete control of the fight.
blunderbuss does maximum damage at melee range, jump shot does double damage at melee range pistols aint got shit, pal
Pistols were pretty insane when i fought engineers in Spvp. They also ignore stuff like mistform and endure pain which can be sooo damn annoying. Most tourney players used pistol sheild or pistol pistol.
Just got 8GB of RAM in the mail (man, the Ripjaws heat spreader is pretty sexy)
8GB more on top of? or 8gb of better ram. They do look sexy.
I bought a hybrid ssd drive for gw2, finally going to get around to installing windows on it.

I'm thinking about installing GW2 on my secondary SSD along with Steam. That with my 40MB down 10MB up is going to produce some crazy load times!
im just sayin that pistols are more of a ranged weapon than the rifle
I didnt get too see any rifle engineers :( i want to see some rocketjumps. I really want to get a external or second hard drive so i can fraps with less frame rate loss.
Gosh, everyone with their fancy hard drives. I am still running on hard drives I salvage from old computers. Potato, my 250gb main hard drive. Spaghetti, my 150gb hard drive dedicated to Steam. Avocado, my 300gb hard drive for non-Steam games.
Hard drive? What's that?
Hard drive? What's that?
:C

Carl XVI Gustav, main hard drive Engelbrekt Engelbrektsson, steam games (origin games aswell) Dimitry of Pereslavl, non-steam games And then an external one; Håkan Röde for music, videos and audiobooks etc
I bet you guys are going to have some interesting character names!
I have "Data," a 931GB drive for games and movies "System," a 111GB drive for everything else AW YEAH
I bet you guys are going to have some interesting character names!
Volatician Kree! I was going to have a charr called Kargra Bladewell but Asura grew on me too much.

On the subject of engineers, I think I still prefer the rifle to the pistol layout because I have more control when it comes to keeping people away from me. I'm currently planning on a rifle+healing turret/util1/net/thumper. With util1 being PBR, Rocket Boots, or Flamethrower.
If you played thief during the beta, what do you think of it? It was the only class I didn't try out.
