Yeah I highly doubt that bow is a legendary weapon. xD
[editline]29th July 2012[/editline]
...and the names! hahaha
so fake
They said in a stream that the rainbow bow was a legendary weapon if i recall.
Wow...reading around and it seems this might be legit but I still won't believe it until I see it with my own eyes.
I really dislike this idea of rainbow unicorn bow. Wtf?
People around the internet think they found out what a couple of those Legendary Weapons (from the mystic forge) look like. Also, what each of them will cost at the Mystic Forge.
Dreamer, Bifrost, Kraitkin (top one), Meteorlogicus.
That's what they think they are. It could also be completely wrong, who knows.
There's a thread on reddit with more information. Not posting it here because someone might not want spoilers on how to get the weapons, or something.
dug around reddit, I still don't know how it's so popular with how shittily laid out it all is
but I found out somebody is apparently working on hacks and a bot already

just wow
taking bets on how fast the hack gets people banned, and if they'll do that thing where the grim reaper shows up and scythes them out of the game
it would be amazing if they did some unique ban systems, like creating a world event where it turns the guy into a killable enemy to other players, starting a world event with a bounty on their head for exp/gold/karma, or a massive invincible NPC decides to come out of nowhere and chase them down, instead of just an instant grim reaper smacking
I don't believe you.

Colin was one of the guys in the stream. You don't believe Colin?

Names are real, idk about the image.
Full list of names is:
Frostfang, Twilight, Sunrise, Incinerator, Maw of the Deep, The Flameseeker Prophices, The Juggernaut, The Moot, Dragon Maw, Frenzy, Kudzu, Quip, Dreamer, Predator, Meteorologicus, Bifrost, Minstrel, Bolt, Kraitkin.
Like I said, I know nothing about whether those images are actually the weapons or not. All of them except the Dreamer, which I find ridiculous, make sense.
Bifrost referenced the rainbow bridge from Norse mythology. I would imagine that the rainbow parts are animated and twirl/float around the staff.
Meteorologicus definitely sounds like something to do with weather (meteorology), thus the clouds and planets, which I assume will rotate around the scepter/focus.
Kraitkin sounds like an underwater weapon, since krait are an underwater enemy. Looks like a fish speargun.
Personally, I like Bifrost and Meteorologicus, but obviously it won't look nice if you're going for some badass character that wears all black and hates everything that lives. Probably look best on Elementalists with colorful armor.
Most of the melee weapons have 'cool' names, so I am guessing those will be the ones you guys want.

all of that unidentified dye
the curiosity too much for any mortal
Don't get me wrong, I don't hate them all, but I really really REALLY do not want a fucking rainbow unicorn on my Legendary Bow that shoots rainbows considering how much time I spent working my ass off making it...
all of that unidentified dye

Well I don't think it's a dye. It seems to be a part of making the Bifrost if you read the description.

Making a hack isn't the hard part, it's making a hack that isn't actually detected. I am guessing they would pretty much be banned instantly when the game realizes they are trying to change values in the game with hacks.

Huntsman (bows, pistols, rifles) get 7 legendary weapons. The Dreamer is a shortbow. The rest are Dragon Maw, Frenzy, Howler, Kudzu, Quip and Predator. I am guessing, from those names, one will fit your taste.
Artificers get 3 weapons. Meteorologicus and Bifrost are two of them. No complaining for you.

I think he was referencing that you have to give up 250 dyes to make it. Curiosity of what the dyes are is too much.

it's made of 250 unidentified dyes
dyes will probably be worth more on the market if you know what they are, because you might get a rare sought after one that's worth some coinage, nobody's going to think "oh man I should sell this unidentified dye" because the risk of it being a generic color is higher than not, so the prices will be unsatisfactory until the realization that high level people are looking for bundles of them, then it'll become overpriced per unit because the only people selling them know they're needed
Colin: "The bow that shoots rainbows out of it, it's pretty good."
Eric: "That's a really good one, there's a shortbow that has a rainbow trail that it shoots at the end of it and it has a unicorn head on the front."
"Legendary weapons are not any more powerful than the top level exotic weapons, each legendary weapon is based off of an exotic weapon."

You would be surprised as to what people will pay for the chance of something nice.
I remember in WoW, there was an item that was basically a lottery ticket. I don't remember exact numbers, but it basically went like this. You had a chance of winning any amount from like 10 silver to 5000 gold. Literally 50% the time you got the 10 silver option.
People paid more than 50 gold for them.
I think buying unidentified dyes is pretty likely.
[editline].[/editline]
Actually I understood your post wrong. Beginning sounded like you were saying unidentified dyes wouldn't be sold much, but the ending basically says you do think they will be sold.
Reading about all the other legendary weapons makes them each sound unique in their own way. Considering what they are, the only one I greatly dislike is The Dreamer.
[editline]29th July 2012[/editline]
I don't really care about the Bifrost as I love that mythological story.

Even though I dislike it, I will still make it just to say I have it. I'll probably use it to screw around and have fun.
I don't think you understand how hard getting these weapons is (or at least, how hard it seems at the moment).
400 in two crafting disciplines, 10 gold, a handful of runs through a certain dungeon, 200 skill points, and some kind of exotic weapon (which might be hard to get as well).
There are only 187 skill points available in the world, iirc. From all of the skill challenges.
I don't think it's something that people will just be like "Oh, I'm level 80, time to get my legendary weapon on this character."
I daresay you would be proud of it, no matter what it looks like.
But that's just me guessing. Maybe I am overestimating the difficulty.
That's just how you see your weapon; everyone else sees it made of writhing flesh screaming for help.
I think this video may show the difference nicely:
The Dreamer + Fully Hot Pink Dyed armor, aviator sunglasses and a flamingo pet.
Go to wvwvw with that.
Why are people still using the Win98 theme?
Hackers & Programmers,... use it because the Win7 or Vista themes slow down your performance.
Gah I'm sorry guys...I'm raging over something as simple as a Unicorn Bow. Everything in Guild Wars 2 is just so epic that I'd hate to see it ruined by something like this!
The epicness of GW2 is almost blinding.
[editline]29th July 2012[/editline]
So let me get this straight... You have to be 400 in two of the crafting professions to make one of the two craftable items to make the legendary weapon (so technically you have to be 400 is four crafting professions). Then you have to purchase two other items using Skill Points to place all four items together in the Mystic Forge to finally create the Legendary Weapon?
What are those two other purchasable items? The Bloodstone Shard (200 skill points) and Eldritch Scroll (50 skill points)?

I'm gonna get that bow no matter what. It's freaking hilarious. I don't think Anet takes it very seriously either.

Bloodstone Shard is the 200 skill points I referenced, Eldritch scroll is unrelated.
For example, if I wanted a Bifrost, it would be Gift of Color (req 400 Chef) + Gift of Energy (req 400 artificer) + Bloodstone Shard + Unknown
We don't know exactly what the last one is, but as far as I can tell, it will be a rare weapon of some sort.
To craft a Gift of Color: 250 Piles of Crystalline Dust (Tier 6 Dust (highest tier)) + 50 Opal Orbs (T6 gem) + 250 Shards of Zaitan (~40 per run of Arah, level 80 dungeon) + 250 Unidentified Dyes
To craft a Gift of Energy: 250 Linen Scraps (T4 cloth) + 250 Silk scraps (T5 cloth) + 250 Gossamer Scraps (T6 Cloth) + 250 Crystalline Dust (T6 dust)
Thus, Bifrost will require:
400 Chef
400 Artificer
200 Skill points
Rare weapon (?)
6-7 runs through a level 80 dungeon
20 gold (minimum)
500 T6 Dust
250 T4 Cloth
250 T5 Cloth
250 T6 Cloth
50 T6 Gems
250 Unidentified Dyes
So to make the Kudzu (Longbow):
Gift of Wood

Hunstman (400)
10 Gold
Gift of Nature

Leatherworker (400)
10 Gold
Bloodstone Shard

200 Skill Points
Almost, and those are just the recipes. Recipe is 10g each, then you actually have to craft it. Eldritch is unrelated to Legendary weapons.
Including all the ingredients within those recipes...
[editline]29th July 2012[/editline]
Oh ok that makes sense.
Yeah. They're a bit expensive. GW2DB has the ingredients for those recipes.
I wonder how long it will take someone to get every legendary weapon. I feel like there will be a number of people trying to be the first.
Yeah. They're a bit expensive. GW2DB has the ingredients for those recipes.
Where at in the DB? I'm trying to find them.

The dungeon you will be doing is Twilight Arbor I think.
