Maybe if you sign up for beta on a phone you have better chances of getting in because of the uniqueness of your "PC" specs.

How many people are going to be chosen? A million people would seem like a nice number, if they let everyone in.

Going by 20.000 to 40.000 per batch would be a good guess. They will up that number while coming closer to release to test the servers.

Am i right in thinking that if it required a hardware scan each time you signed up then anet would recognise if the same person did it more than once?

If they do they'll just look at that. Honestly, they probably won't go that far.

Look on the bright side, if you don't get into the beta it's gonna be more nice surprises for you when you play the actual game.

From the videos I've been seeing, this game finally looks like a decent WoW competitor. It looks like it will be well worth the wait!
