This game will CRUSH WoW...
I agree, but it's likely Blizzard will be releasing D3 right around the same time, just to poop all over GW2.
i didnt get to play diablo 1 or 2 so not really know how good the third will be.
Kung Fu Panda's. That is all.
Everyone except the die hard fanboy's hate the idea of the new expansion, according to the blizzard forums anyway. [editline]25th February 2012[/editline]
My favourite home town is probably the humans because of the amount of detail and diversity.
You can keep you're detail and diversity, i'll take my awesome death machines and fire everywhere any day. [editline]25th February 2012[/editline]
In what reality?
See really the whole "Crush" wow can be used in different context's for example a number of mmo's out there could be considered to crush wow in terms of how good the game is but not have the same amount of community.
This game will CRUSH WoW...
People also say this when a big budget MMO comes around. WoW's playerbase has indeed been declining but it still holds a very sizeable amount of subscribers
Every computer has an ID that includes an account of what hardware you have. If they do they'll just look at that. Honestly, they probably won't go that far.
But I have 2 pc's and 2 laptops, i could just sign up 4 times. Only did once though.
I'd rather not see what the cities look like right now, one of my favorite moments in any MMO is stepping through the gates of your first capital city and exploring the fuck out of everything.
i'm trying very hard to keep everything a secret except the PvP combat so far. i know for a fact i'll be getting this game and playing the shit out of it so I might as well just keep myself in the dark so it's that much better when it's released
I really think people who have played Guild Wars should get into the beta quicker than people who haven't though.
When you signed up for the beta, one of the optional questions was: "How did you find out about GW2?", one of the options was "Played Guild Wars". Everyone who didn't put in that answer are ruled out for the beta? Edit: was a reply to the comment above me. Sarcasm guys.
I really think people who have played Guild Wars should get into the beta quicker than people who haven't though.
They are completely different games.
They are completely different games.
I still think people who actually played the first game should get quicker access to the second, they aren't 'completely different games' either.. I'm not saying that ONLY those people would be allowed, just that they should get a bit 'luckier' than people who haven't ever even heard of Guild Wars.

But realistically that wont happen.

Beta testing is for testing. It's not there to please fans.
I'd rather have people with GW knowledge testing it than those without.
Then you don't know how testing works. I suggest you watch this for starters. Specifically the bit at 5:20.
Each to his own with what they prefer I suppose.
Not really when we're discussing how to get the best results. The game is also going to be played by people who have never touched GW1 so naturally it should also be tested by the same kind of people as the intended target audience.

So i own GW, and i haven't played as many hours as someone else who owns it, so they should have more chance of getting in? why? here's the lowdown, people who generally play the previous games of a sequel generally make shit beta testers, why? because they just play the game, they don't test the game they don't report issues or bugs as often as people whom ( like myself ) like to dedicate a beta opportunity to actually test the game and not just use it as a demo to decide whether i should buy it or not ( bear in mind GW players probably are going to buy it regardless so Arenanet might like to try catering to an audience who are unsure whether to buy it or not ) aka non GW players.
It should be tested by everyone without bias to Guild wars 1 experience, I played guild wars 1 but I wouldn't want to be considered above someone else. I keep opening hotmail with the anticipation of physically screaming with joy, even if I don't get in the excitement of the possibility is enough!
They do need to test how non-GW players experience the game as well you know.
Personal opinion guys. Not right or wrong.
It's not exactly personal opinion when they need to make sure people who have never played Guild Wars also enjoy the game :v:
I'm talking about how I think about it, which is my own opinion.
Even if beta testers haven't played GW, doesn't mean that they wouldn't be just as useful if not more on feedback, they'd also want to bring in as many new players as possible, having GW veterans just invited kinda gives off a "no outsiders" allowed vibe.
I guess you've got a good point, anyways, I really do hope we get to see Cantha and Elona again sometime, as Cantha has been cut off without contact for about 100 years and Elona only has minor contact through the Order of Whispers, but I suppose that means we'd have to get rid of the Elder Dragons somehow and I don't see that happening honestly.
I'm talking each to his own in the way that I would still feel more comfortable if people with GW knowledge would test it rather than those without, but I understand what you mean.
None of your GW1 game knowledge is going to apply to GW2 though. The combat system is almost entirely different.

I made the mistake of watching all the other cities reviews. I'll save those two for my own experience to be blown away! Even though I really want to just play this game, I will be doing my job when I get access to the beta. I can't tell you how many times I've seen press beta video's when the reviewers just click the 'Close' button and ignore it. I do NOT plan on doing that. Why? Because I love the game series and I really want it to be "built for the players" -Ree Soesbee
