Guild Wars 2 V2: GOTY 2017 or How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love Arenanet - Games

Does anyone have any more information on PvP specific gear? I know there aren't PvP specific stats (like resilience in WoW), and I also know that in competitive PvP everyone gets the best gear and balanced stats and such so it's based on skill, but in World VS World is there a currency or drops off of other players that is only obtainable through world vs world? Is there a currency like honor in WoW that you gain through World vs World battles and use to buy better gear? Because I don't want to have to go raid or do PvE to get the best gear to use in PvP, I want to be able to PvP and get the best PvP specific gear so people know that I'm an awesome PvPer. PS, PvP. My questions about WvW still stand however

The system in wow is shit, if you are OP/Very good you are rewarded with even better gear so you can stomp ever better. Its horrible. I hope there's no such thing here.

I hope there's no such thing here.[/QUOTE] I completely agree, I love the idea in GW2 in competitive PvP that everyone is equal and the only thing separating them is skill (or unbalanced classes). In WoW i hated how even If i was much better than someone in arenas, if they played more than me they would have better gear and a majority of the time would beat me just because of their gear. I'd still like to know a little more about how gear in WvW works. I don't want to have to do PvE raids and such in order to gear better gear for WvW, i'd like to be able to play WvW and get great gear that is just as good as the PvE gear from raids. I do wish that if you bought some cosmetic gear in structured PvP with your Glory points that you could use that gear outside of structured PvP as well, but I highly doubt that will be the case

I find it interesting that everybody's worried that they'll be dragged down in WvW by their server's lack of prowess. Think about it for a second; if most people on your team are bad, and you're being matched up with other bad teams, YOU WILL BE THE BEST PLAYER THERE. That can be pretty damn fun. And if it gets to the point where it's TOO easy, then clearly you're winning at that point, so your world will move up in the ranks. I really can't see a fault with that system.

My questions about WvW still stand however[/QUOTE] In WvW you earn gold and experience off other players as if they were PvE mobs. They even have loot tables so you can get rare drops from them. At level 80 there are also tokens you can earn which you turn in for cool cosmetic gear. Remember though that everybody at the same level will have roughly the same armour level. It just varies by how you build them - one player might use a piece of armour with +75 precision and another might use one with +33 power and +33 toughness, or one might use a life-draining weapon while another uses the icy one that sometimes does AoE shatter attacks.

Is there going be a Fp guild on NA/EU? would be cool to pvp with people that know how to play. edit: who will know how to play...

Nope. People tried to make one but it never really worked out.

I plan on created a Guild just for a few of my personal friends but I'll represent a much larger guild. I'd like to have the chance to play with a few FP'ers here as well. I think we can have lots of fun.

I think the major problem with an FP guild is that we all live far apart, so there's going to be some people that have to pick a server with high ping if they want to be in the guild.
