I'm just gonna head to Best Buy on the 10th and see if they're selling the CE.
Gamestop is the closest place to me, so I figured I might try there. Although Pie108 is correct, Amazon is pretty amazing and they always deliver quick!
Amazon also has this thing that if you pre-order a game, or something like that, they get the shipping to deliver on the day the game would be released.

Although I like that, I also like being the wierdo outside the store standing there until I get the fucking game. And if the shipment is late, I just hang there and chat with the workers: mainly to score a job, yo!
Too bad I already have a job and I won't be able to do a midnight release (or whenever the GameStop opens).
EDIT:
I don't know what i'm talking about...release date isn't announced yet!

Take a day off.

Actually I don't know what I'm even talking about. We won't be able to pick up the CE until release date and we don't know when that is yet. Doh!
Why cant we pick up the CE until release date?
How the fuck? It also included beta access... So if we can only pick it up at release date, it serves no purpose?
Or do you mean the statue/ingame items?

When you pre-order on April 10th, they will give you a game code. You then go home and submit that code to download the client in order for you to access the beta. On release date you will pick up the rest (or have the item shipped).
Or so that's how I understand it... Correct me if I'm wrong! The last time I did a CE was Half Life 2.
:o I won HL2 and like 12 other games through my dad, idk what for anymore... So i didn't get a CE for hl2. Otherwise i would v.
I have no Collectors Editions so far...
Am I the only person that doesn't buy limited or collectors editions of games?
Am I the only person that doesn't buy limited or collectors editions of games?
Yes. They stock hundreds of thousands shops with non-collector edition games just for you.
Am I the only person that doesn't buy limited or collectors editions of games?
The limited/collectors wouldn't be very limited or a collectors item if everyone had them.
Am I the only person that doesn't buy limited or collectors editions of games?
Nope. Unless you have lots of money to throw away, what's the point?

It's called the collectors edition. It's for people who like collecting things.
...or support the devs.

Collect dust you mean
I'm spending more on it just to support the developers, mainly as a statement for the non-monthly subscriptions because it is cheaper to spend £129.99 on the base game as I'm definitely getting my worth from it. If there was, however a monthly subscription I wouldn't dream of spending more than £40.
Plus a char statue to sit front and centre on my desk :)
@Rong - You could say the same thing about any painting or piece of art. You display them, but you don't interact with them. Or really anything that you bought for form over function.
I display CE type stuff above my desk because it's a nice decoration.

How about you clear out a space just for Rytlock, mouse.
You can wallow in your own shit, like a mouse should.
Wonder if I should get a case for my Rytlock. A plexiglass display.

Unnecessary.
The thing with collectors items is that i want to have them after i bought and started to really like the game, not before when i don't even know anything about the game other than it's mechanics.
I like the oldskool collectors edition of games that had a special box or something else trivial, and if you liked the game you hoped some company made some shirts or whatever.
All this talk of collector's edition made me think of something.
Do the arenaNet employees get Collector's Editions, or do you think they just get a normal copy of the game (I would assume that either option would be free for them)
