I've heard the dynamic event system is broken, so people are judging their entire PvE experience on the "heart" events. So they're saying it's tedious and boring.
Let them ruin their own fun. I couldn't care less.
Exactly.
[editline]24th March 2012[/editline] Basically saying that it takes the same amount of time to level throughout all levels.
I saw this exact picture and understood what it meant, I'm just asking if getting from 79-80 and 9-10 in GW2 would either take as much time as getting from 9-10 in an ordinary MMO, or would it be more like 39-40. Basically - let's say getting to 80 in WoW takes 20 hours and let's say getting to 10 takes 20 minutes (I'm making these numbers up), will getting to 80 in GW2 take 20 hours, or will it take more like 20 minutes *8? That graph is showing very flawed information
Wait, so explain this to me - I've heard of the flat leveling curve, but does it mean that the lower levels will take much much longer to get through than they would in other MMOs, or does it just take a relatively short time to get to 80?
Perhaps this will answer some of your questions.

As you see with the chart, it looks as if the time between levels would be the same as 9 - 20 in WoW.
From what I have seen, the length between levels is pretty considerable; it took forever for someone I was watching to go from 35 to 36.
From what I have seen, the length between levels is pretty considerable; it took forever for someone I was watching to go from 35 to 36.
Can you quantify 'forever'?
Can you quantify 'forever'?
About an hour of running around doing tasks, but that was only half of the level; the footage I saw he was already 35 and a half.
I am going to get to max level by picking flowers or some shit.
I'm glad leveling won't be an asshole in this game. I hate grinding.
I'm glad leveling won't be an asshole in this game. I hate grinding.
This. Why I quit most MMO's.
well i hate the quest grinding too. "Go find 4 raptor skulls" but apparently not every raptor has fucking skull so you have to kill 50 of them to get the 4 fucking items. not to mention literally every quest in WoW and other MMOs I've never cared about, so I don't know why I'm collecting these pieces of shit

It's funny because in some parts of WoW blizzard made it so quest items were 100% drop rate, then in others they brought it back.....logic? and tbh i don't mind some questing, it's just when i've spent a whole day finishing one area then moving into the next to have to do the exact same sort of quests kinda pisses me off.
I don't mind enemy grinding at all to be honest as long as there are different ways to kill an enemy. But farming and grinding in Guild Wars 1 is just something that I find super boring.
Let me tell you, playing engineer isn't easy...
Let me tell you, playing engineer isn't easy...
According to my friend it's actually quite easy. Just more amusing to do in groups

I remember using the ritualist vengeful farming build and it was AMAZING.
Let me tell you, playing engineer isn't easy...
good i want a challenge so i can feel like a boss when i master it, the only thing i worry about if i play an engineer first ( which i am ) is engineers don't have the in combat wep switch function so when i go to play another class i'll keep forgetting to use it and get destroyed.
Let me tell you, playing engineer isn't easy...
i can attest to that, tried pvping as engineer and nothing i did really did damage.. or was effective...
I assume Engineer is more of a combat support type instead of "put sentry here, watch things die".
Yeah, don't expect to do a buttload of Damage, you have very little health either... might be a bad idea to start out with engineer... I should consider rerolling as something else... Also only pic i'm putting in this thread... pls dont report.
I assume Engineer is more of a combat support type instead of "put sentry here, watch things die".
they have some good support stuff, mines and bombs, and a mortar ability, but yea don't expect to be able to hold your own against like anything
pls dont report.
k, reporting.

It'll be faster in your first few hours of play due to the daily achievement rewards.
I'm enjoying warrior and guardian the most i'd say

Can you choose to be limp in char creation?
