Though it is pretty clear that the graphics side of things is not yet optimized for performance.
Optimizing is one of the last things developers do before releasing a game. So yeah, it is guaranteed to improve.
Common feedback given by the people playing this weekend is that PvE is really easy and game runs like shit
That's because all the people chosen for the beta event have shit computers, according to ~various sources~. It'll probably run a lot better for those people next beta event, when arenanet does some optimizing based on the data collected from this one. It IS a beta after all!
GW2 It was a joke since you said the game runs like shit according to beta testers. Swing and a miss...
Honestly the game runs perfectly for me on my 4850 all maxed out
Oh crap, just found out that I have a track meet from 5pm-8pm on 4/10. It's at a high school that's about an hour away. I may have some complications pre-purchasing CE first day now...
Honestly the game runs perfectly for me on my 4850 all maxed out
that just made my day, seeing how I have a 4850 myself

People are so afraid and I don't blame them:
Give a friend the money and get him to buy it for you?
I don't know man, I'll figure something out. I'm willing to go buy it at 10pm, but I'm not sure if the parents will be happy to let me do that.

It keeps happening. I told you about those levels bro.
NDAs aside it would be nice if arenanet did actually keep putting out information, instead of making us pretty much beg beta players for info.
NDAs aside it would be nice if arenanet did actually keep putting out information, instead of making us pretty much beg beta players for info.
Aye, one thing I really want to know is the baseline amount of character slots.
5
Which kinda sucks, I want atleast 8 for all classes.
5
Wait, really? I thought it was going to be something stupid like three. I'm more than fine with five.
The only interesting image I've seen lately:
if only those were the final/default/average diamond prices in full release...
Yeah, getting extra character slots wouldn't take massive amount of time then. I'm probably going to use most of my spare dosh in game to purchase more slots, anyways. I think gems price is going to be determined buy supply and demand, like (rare) material traders in gw1. So one buys gems for gold, gems demand rises and price increases (slightly) and other way around.
The char slots might be just for the beta, or have they stated that it's the maximum? Because 5 is horrible, I thought WoW had too few... Anyways my friend got into beta but I didn't, so I was allowed to ride around for an hour or so on his account and damn it was fun.
Btw gem prices will be decided by the player market, so normally it should be really high the first few weeks, then over the coming months it should balance out and become a reasonable price.
5 character slots. That's a per-server limit, right? If that is indeed the case, it's not a big deal for me. The market is fine, the boosts and shiz appears to be low, costly boosts, which is fine in my opinion. The keys, I'm not sure, I'll have to wait and see how it'll affect the gameplay. Needless to say - beta is beta, anything is subject to change and there's no release date yet. ArenaNET has stated the feedback from the beta is determining the release date, so don't worry too hard about it. The game looks excellent and my body can't wait.
I will be buying the amount of character slots required to play all professions on day 1 anyway. I will test ride all profs before deciding my main. And I am sure I won't be the only one doing that.
The char slots might be just for the beta, or have they stated that it's the maximum? Because 5 is horrible, I thought WoW had too few...
One per race and if you really want to have one per profession you can buy three extra (with in-game gold!)
Btw gem prices will be decided by the player market, so normally it should be really high the first few weeks, then over the coming months it should balance out and become a reasonable price.
Except that no one will have enough gold to purchase them if they are too high, so they will probably be fairly low for a while, and then spike when people can actually afford to buy them. I don't know why people would try to sell them that early on, but I'm sure somebody will. As for 5 character slots, if they gave you 8, basically no one would ever buy an extra character slot. They do need to make money, because there is no subscription, and that is how. 5 is enough for most people anyway. @Within The 5 character limit is probably account wide because you can switch between servers/worlds so easily.
Anet will probably shove a couple thousand on there as a starter to get the market going, at whatever the average gem price was after the betas are over.
I wonder how many digital versions of Guild Wars 2 will be sold at buy.guildwars2.com on april 10. :P
I think they gave 2000 gems to everyone in the beta.

Can you swap around for free? Since I highly doubt that.
What do you mean? Can you swap around for free? Since I highly doubt that.
Yeah you can switch servers but they set up limitations so that you don't do it for WvW or other PvP reasons. I know there is the ability to play with your friends on another server but I do not know anything about a fee for doing so. The server you created your character on will be considered your home server and no progress will be made unless you are on that server.
