You can also tell the difference between 24 and 60 fps in a film.

could i get on the day 1 buyers list?
Played the BETA.
The game runned like fucking shit on my huge rig.
Shit game confirmed.
Hi, do you have anything else to say about the beta besides this? I was in the early testing for APB and it ran like shit for me, but the game systems themselves were brilliant.
How did you like the game?
could i get on the day 1 buyers list?
Throw me on there aswell, if you're busy.
Ok... So if I can run battlefield 3 on medium/high with around 25-35 FPS.. What should my FPS be in guild wars 2 if I ran it at medium?

most areas you should be perfectly fine. pvp wvwvw and big event fights will be different because of all the particle effects. what stuff you got in your comp?
ideally you want a triple core, 4gb ram a series 300 card or higher, ( dont know amd equivalent sorry.
minimum i hear is 2gb ram dual core and series Geforce gt 240, you would have a pretty hard time playing the game properly with this though.

4 gigs of ddr3 RAM, Nvidia 450 GTS. Quad Phenom 9600 core processor, and etc.
You should be fine. Just might have to run it on low-medium.
[editline]30th March 2012[/editline]
Of course you have to remember that they've only posted minimum specs and not recommended specs. Once they optimize the game (which will be the last thing they do) they will announce that portion of it. We will obviously see a change in performance from the beta.

yeh perfectly fine , should be on high no problem. im guessing you would have to switch to medium in WvWvW or a fight against big dragon especially in first month of gameplay when it gets zerged. but i cant be too sure.
They may also have beta drivers for your graphics card. i had to download the beta drivers for mine when i played BF3 beta so when you get gw just check for drivers every few days.

First of all, I don't think you know what pseudo-science is. To be fair though, I should have been a little more clear; what I said was a bit of a generalization. Obviously it's possible to tell the difference between 30 FPS and 60 FPS, it's just that a lot of people don't notice enough to care unless they're looking out for it.

Really? I was hearing that they were going to make sure the game is greatly optimized and able to run perfectly well even on outdated computers (by outdated I mean 3-4 years)

oh itll run perfectly well on full low setting, and if you avoid large mobs of people it will be crazy at the start probably when everyone starts in the same area
WvWvW will be worst. All the particles
That commando gag reminded me of this:

Also, since it's prepurchase, doesn't that technically make us minus XXX day buyers?

I don't think MMO's care that much about day one buyers and the such. NCSoft has had some good experience with multiplayer games, and they definitely know that they'll get their profit over a period of time.
i3, 2.13ghz
ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5650 1gb.
4gb DDR3.
Will I be able to run this?

Your CPU is at the minimum system requirements, so it may or may not run well.
I don't know ATI video cards well enough to determine that.
Ram seems fine
You should be able to run it. After they've optimized it I'm certain you'll be able to run it on low or whatever at least. In the unoptimized beta will probably still be ok except when lots of players / particle effects are on screen.
Everyone on the GW2 Facebook are already talking about the April Fools joke. It is still March 31st here, anybody know what they are talking about?
could it have anything to do with this annoying fucker on the gw2 wiki?
and this interview
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/March_2012:_State_of_the_Game
There was an update to Guild Wars that included something about 'preparing for April Fools'.
[editline]1st April 2012[/editline]
Our release is still scheduled for early-mid 2013
This better be a fucking joke. Messing with the release date like that is not fucking funny. That's just wrong.

The bard is the greatest thing to ever happen to the gw2 wiki.
"And our solution isn’t one you’d expect of a professional team like ours, or anyone’s. Our solution surpasses AI completely. We have chosen to exclude AI from the battle with Elder Dragons. Every battle with an Elder Dragon will be fully open, persistent. Everyone can interject with the battle at any time, much like any dynamic event. But the difference with dynamic events is the fact that the objective isn’t controlled by an AI script. The objective is controlled by an actual player. Or rather, an actual member of our team. We’ve stationed various team members to take a shot at playing the Elder Dragon Zhaitan from release day onward. There is no roster we’re giving out, so you’ll never know who is playing Zhaitan at any given time. But in the end, you’re never fighting a computer. We’ve turned the team you support into the team you might end up despising, because they will be your main antagonist soon."
Can't wait for server emulators just so I can play as the elder dragon.
This better be a fucking joke. Messing with the release date like that is not fucking funny. That's just wrong.
I agree. It's unfunny and cheap. If you absolutely have to resort to it at least make sure it's exaggerated.
