It's not a phishing scam, but they've said they're using a new client. Sorry about that, don't know why they're doing this, it's like they want to use up bandwith fast or something.

How long does it take before they send out that client to people who registered? Or is it only being sent out ~20th?

no one knows anything to do with the beta(s) (except that they've said one BWE this month)

Just curious since they said "you'll get an email with the game client shortly." Unsure if that's "a few minutes" shortly or "a few days" shortly.

Glad I finally secured my spot in something I've been looking forward to for some time.

I hope they give a download link with the client some days before the beta weekend, I don't want to lose 2 days of the weekend downloading the game....

People are arguing that the chroma hash is basically worthless, and quite possibly a severe security issue. [URL]http://www.reddit.com/r/programming/comments/95hxr/chromahash_a_sexy_nonreversible_live/[/URL] (Reddit has a reputation of being bad, but there are reasonable arguments in this thread) People could discover a 7 letter password when given the various chroma hashes that were shown while typing it. Plus, the whole security thing of only getting a limited number of tries would be obsolete because if the hacker had what your final hash looked like, he would already know if it was correct or not. I think it's not worth it really. There are some modifications that would make it safer, but it still isn't that helpful. Examples would be making the chroma hash be different on different computers, or different usernames and stuff like that.

Saw that thread too. Felt kind of worrying knowing that all they need to do is match some colors to get your pass.

i'm colourblind so matching colours won't make a difference to me anyways

Pre-purchased the CE earlier this morning right after Gamestop opened so add me to the day one purchase list. Nearly left without my beta code! Had to go back in after realizing it wasn't on my original receipt. Satisfying to know that I will have beta access and get the awesome CE but when I looked at my bank account it really hurt. The chroma thing looked kind of cool at first but then I realized I'll probably just type in my password really quick and hit enter without paying attention to whether I got it right or wrong like I do with everything else. Would be simpler and more secure just to have a green check mark if it's right and a red x if it isn't.

Can anyone offer me some help? I'm trying to register my game. I'm on step 2 where I create my GW2 account but it won't let me continue to the next step nor will it tell what I've done wrong.

Had to use Chrome to preorder and register for some reason, but it worked. Might want to try the same.

Well it seems to have simply fixed itself. God damn computers working and not working randomly.
