The SSX Series - I'm gonna quadruple backflip off this cliff
It's a demo, what did you expect?
I think me and Jackald want more after seeing how big the ME3 demo is with the multiplayer and whatnot :v:
damn, why does the game have to come out this week, the very same week I have got to fork out £115 for my car tax :(
You seem to think that SSX should be the Skate of snowboarding.(try being really realistic) SSX at its core was always fast pace and crazy and now there is hardware that can handle it's vision.
Your complaint about it being too easy because your borard gravitates toward the ground is also kind of empty because your board only does that if you stop rotating/tricking. Anyone who is capable of playing SSX will probably not use that feature because it cuts off score; at most it is to help beginners get adjusted.
Lastly, about not being able to crash. I would assume that the idea behind making it easier to stay on your board is not to try and make the game easier but to keep the game going fast. It's punishment enough to lose your combo or speed from making a bad decision.
Nowhere in my post did I say or mention anything about it being realistic.
I said it's extremely fast, which is cool, but it's hard to tell what's going on sometimes. I also said it seems that I can do tricks just by mashing a bunch of buttons and I get a high score.
And no, my complaint isn't empty. It rotates to the ground, whereas it didn't do that in previous installments, therefore making it easier than previous installments. I don't know how on earth that's "empty." Your statement of "anyone who is capable" is a dick attempt at demeaning anyone who would use it.
My point is that it shouldn't be there, not whether or not you should use it. I think if you leave your board up in the air, you should come down on your head, just like you did in SSX Tricky. Now was Tricky realistic in the slightest? No, not at all.
A "bad decision" in your argument is apparently not crashing, so I don't really see any other bad decisions besides making yourself go the wrong way.
You can't begin an argument by basing yours off of someone else's statements or views that they didn't make and don't have.
But needless to say you'll all go group mentality and disagree with me, because that seems to be the trend.
My point was that it's way too simplified, and I'm comparing it to SSX Tricky. I don't want realism, I want the SSX series. And this game has that. It's just that I think the gravitational pull on the bottom of the board is silly and is too much hand-holding.
On a side-note: I wish Eddie wasn't preorder only. I don't have $60 and I like Eddie...

How high is high? I saw a video of someone getting over 50 million, and I don't think he mashed buttons.

If you do a flip in any of the games, I'm pretty sure the flip completes if you stop holding the button down. Where it is different however is if you come off a jump sideways; in Tricky you'd just inevitably fall off when you land since you took off at a funny angle, but in the new one you still have a chance to land. I'd call that an improvement due to less frustration.

Hitting a jump at a bad angle and landing in the wrong place?
Ending your combo early?
Over/undershooting a jump?
Getting fewer flips/spins in a jump than the maximum possible?
Running out of boost?
Repeating tricks?
etc. etc.

I disagree with you on a personal level because I think you're wrong. I'll happily admit that I did share some of your concerns until I started trying to chase the absolute highest scores (and failing). It reminded me that this is undoubtedly a hardcore game, and it's tricky TRICKY TRICKYYYYY to get a perfect run.

Why is there always someonewho goes "You're all just ganging up on me!" It's not like people could disagree with you, or have different opinions, right?
Maybe I didn't play enough and missed something. I mean gold medal high, not record breaking on YouTube high.
And I just played ssx tricky and it will dump you on your head if you don't complete the flip.
I still want the game I just don't like the gravIty hand holding.
And I said that because there's this thing called mob mentality and bandwagon effects, and they happen too often on the Internet and face punch. Like the word stuffing you're doing. I've Posted in here twice and both times someone shoved words in my mouth.
The deadly descents look really cool. And that's definitely a Good point about the board thing. I didn't think of it that way, thanks.
My package was just shipped by Amazon, hopefully it gets here before I wake up tomorrow. I wonder if I should install the game to my hard drive.
What system are most of you guys getting it on?
Should I preorder it from Gamestop?

Fair enough, I haven't played it in years. Maybe one of the later games does it? Or maybe I'm thinking of late flips, where you tap a button in the air to do a front/backflip.
I feed on this game. Can't wait till tomorrow.
Honestly the only SSX game I have really played before this was SSX: On Tour, but that game was absolutely awesome.
I think ssx on tour is like the new one in that aspect.
Uh. Jackald. Your mom got those? Yeeeaahhh sounds like porn movies to me.
Hahaha I tried, okay? It sounded reasonable.
Yeah, I noticed that with On Tour. It was just such a drastic change from Tricky to SSX, but I see that there's been a transition.
I'll still buy this, but when it's cheaper so I have money.
Anyone have any tips for the race/trick events? Can't break over 14 million for trick mode, and in race I can only get 2:11.

Trick it:
Use the map as a half pipe and not as a path straight down, go back and forth when possible(losing speed or going backwards is bad because you lose tricky), Don't use boost until tricky.
Race it:
Stay low, don't go for massive jumps, try and find the quickest path, Try and stay in tricky to have unlimited boost.
//
Amazon already gave me my preorder code for "Macs Elite Snowboard," hope its cool.

Only character I want to play as is Mr. Jones :v:
Well the game came out today and this is on second page.
Any verdicts? Or are you all just too busy playing it?
just got home playing now omg holy shit
I did not expect DJ Atomika to be back...
Just picked it up, worth the money indeed.
My god some of the events are hard.
Just picked up my copy, but I have to study a bit more for exams before I can play it. :(
Also, I have no friends who play SSX, so if anyone wants to add me on Xbox Live...
Pre-ordered it, you Americans don't deserve to live.
Fuck you EA, two days left...

People who are playing it write about how good it is so I can further excite myself
Also, I have no friends who play SSX, so if anyone wants to add me on Xbox Live...
Feel free to add me. "IN Cave Johnson"
I still need to get a new xbox before I can even play the game. I just brought it up from the basement and tried turning it on to see if it worked and it RROD'd.
XBL is "Silverlit" if anyone wants to add me for whatever reason.
Holy SHIT this game is extremely satisfying in every single way... my only gripe with it is that I have no friends that play it. If you're a lonely Facepunch player on the PS3 like me, add Live2bcool. I'll be sure to accept your friend request!
