Ravenholm. I played late at night during most of the game. By far, Ravenhom was the creepiest. All the random moans and stuff always caused me to jump. I remember something leaping out at me and me jumping. Awesome stuff.

Route Kanal/Water Hazard. Just going through in my airbot, suddenly CHOPPER OUT OF NOWHERE BLARH. So I got away from that, about 500 Metros and a few Barnacles, and there was this stop point where I had to put some weights in a well. I see an ammo crate, I'm like 'Awesome, ammo'. Walk over, ZOMBIE OUT OF A PUDDLE BLARH. I crapped myself.

Everytime a Zombie jumped out a corner/door at me!
The first part of E2 and your in the building and alyx is outside. Lights turn on and you see the highlight of a hunter, and a dead rebel hanging by his foot. You keep going until alyx gets attacked, and you freak out.

when you leave Ravenholm and get on to the train tracks. It wasn't scary, but it was damn creepy. until you got to the snipers, then it was annoying.

The music when you first encounter zombies is creepy.

Stalkers. Their screams are scary.
Half-Life 2 wasn't scary. The scariest games I ever played were "Condemned", "Penumbra" and "Call Of Cthulhu".
When I saw the physics puzzle.
Half Life 2 wasn't meant to be scary but i find Ravenholm scary when Grigori is not around.

For me, the scariest moment in half life 2 is in episode 1 when you have to wait for the elevator.

Scarie moments in Half-Life 2, not post scarie games to impress 5 year old in the internet.
When I first played, I found the abandoned house with the on coast with the lone poison zombie to be a little frightening. Usually because he pops up in different places.
Why is everyone scared of the elevator scene ? I mean it's just shitload of zombies coming out of nowhere like in l4d.

I found a new fast zombie in ep 2. he was next to a table after the junkyard. i walked over there (on advice from a friend) and the next thing i hear is a loud scream... sometimes i hate him
Headcrabs in vents.
The first time I saw a poison headcrab and a fast headcrab I nearly shit my pants.

Vortigaunt atop the ladder in the shaft in Ep2.
I jumped off the ladder in fright, trying to fill it with lead from the smg while falling back down the shaft.
i hit him with my crowbar for scaring me when i got back up, it was 2 in the morning and i was already creeped out from movies that night.
