In Ravenholm before entering the building where you get your shotgun from Grigori, you hear a fast zombie howling/screaming, holy fucking shit it still scares me :(
I jumped when that vort pops up in your face after falling down in a pit in EP2.
"No pit is complete without freeman climbing out of it."
Lol, this thread is going to be 90% of people saying Ravenholm.
I hated that when I had it on xbox when it first came out, till I started using the gravity gun and the saw blade.
I do remember this time that made me jump, it was on the level when you move around with your ant-lion minions and climb up the cliffside. There's a drainage pipe that has a fast zombie in it, I poked my head up into the pipe, the zombie screamed and jumped for me, I ducked and the zombie flew out of the pipe and fell off the cliff edge onto the ground below
Made my heart go for a few second, but was quite full of lolz at the same time.
Scariest moment.
BLUE SCREEN RAUGHGHUG
An easteregg in water hazard. You go down this little tunnel and into a small chamber and BAM! A zombie blows out of the ground.
If that's the one that bursts out of the shallow water that definitely got me the first time I played through. I was all like, oh cool, a secret pipe I struggled to get into, I wonder what cool shit is hidden down he-ARGHFFF!
I was like 'OH SHI-' when that shark came at me in the beginning of hl2 when i played it the first time.
Ravenholm wasn't really scary (it was boring and too long) but it wasn't really rainbows and unicorns either.
When all the stalkers start screaming and writhing around when you're in the Razor Train...
i have a phobia of spiders or insects of any kind so headcrabs scare the fuck out of me. antlions and striders are even worse. i have no problems with hunters though
when you wake up and see alyx in your face I swear I almost shat another floor to my house.
then why post
dumbass
I like you :3:
When I was alone with Alyx in that elevator.... she looked like she was gonna rape me.... :ohdear:
When you had to avoid that glowing antlion guardian in the antlion tunnels of episode 2
I was screaming.

I hated that part, one time I thought he was gonna come from the left, so I ran down the right tunnel looking for another hiding spot, and then all of the sudden he was in front of me.
I hated how the episodes had so many zombies. Ravenholm didn't scare me, I have no idea why, but everything from Nova Prospekt to science lab in White Forest had me scared like crazy, even though there was like one zombie in Nova Prospekt, the place was a perfect zombie area, so I was scared the whole time.
Nothing in Half-Life 2 was that scary, I mean, some things were certainly surprising. But not scary. The level designers make it far too obvious something is going to pop out.

That's a Good THING
You're getting chased by a chopper. Your first reaction is "OHSHITRUN". You run and then suddenly you are moving up. You look up. "OHSHITBARNACLE".
I hate barnacles.
Seriously. It has got to be that tunnel on sandtraps. Scared the shit out of me to get out of the buggy and use the gravgun to get the cars out of the way. :ohdear:
"Gigantic Cock-headed Monster" as i called him the first time i saw him scared the living shit out of me.
Half-Life 2 really doesn't scare me. It think Ravenholm is overrated.
The scene with the Gman radio music did really creep me out the first time I played through. Also, the hunter in the building thing in EP2 right before Alyx is attacked jumped me.
The Citadel and Ravenholm.
Ravenholm. First play through.
